Games that are heavily based on a developer's actual experiences, usually by way of allegory.
When a character from an existing media franchise makes a brief appearance in a video game, sometimes without even openly acknowledging their origins.
Some of these games were trying to approximate the person's actual features with little success, and others stylized them on purpose. Either way, no one would confuse the resulting characters with the people they represent.
Characters that intentionally resemble a member of the game's development team.
When a prominent character is voiced by a member of the development team. The authors Clive Barker and Harlan Ellison are good examples of this.
When the developers of a video game include a replica of their own office in the game, usually as an Easter Egg.
Nothing helps set a game in a specific point in time more than having a few famous faces from history drop by to say hi.
A narcissist is a person that is obsessed with one's own looks or who has an egomaniacal sense of self-importance.
Sometimes the creator's logo or name can be found in the product's game world.
Zombies, more accurately called the walking dead, are reanimated corpses who feed on the living, and have become a ubiquitous video game enemy. They often move slowly, but can be deadly in large numbers, which is unfortunately how they tend to travel. Shotgun time!
