Device 6 is an iOS game that primarily uses swiping as its main interaction. The game must be played with the audio on to get the full experience. The player reads a story and often has to solve puzzles to read further. It was created by developer Simogo. In some ways, it can be considered both a visual novel and a puzzle game.
Metro GameCentral gave Device 6 the award for "Best Storytelling", beating The Stanley Parable, The Last Of Us, and Gone Home.
The story follows Anna, a woman who wakes up on a strange island with several empty buildings. She tries to escape while also trying to figure out why she was brought there. As that story continues the player, referred to as Player249, is given details about various devices and asked to answers question after each chapter.
