Cut, shot, and destroyed Devils by Gamer Jay

And here we are again, on the stepping stones of Demon world and Human world, once sealed by the legendary Sparda, human sympathizer and Legendary Dark Knight, not be confused with
Batman, the not as powerful and not as demon like, Dark Knight. I have come through on my promise, which I bet the 3 of you out there reading this didn’t think I would, and brought you a review of an actual game instead of the past couple reviews I have done, about a hotel and the other about a computerized vacuum. I have conquered the Devils of Devil May Cry 3, a hard as hell game,
even on easy mode, not to mention normal mode, then you reach whatever they call hard mode and if you have the patients for that, I would but then have a heart attack from trying to stay focused on not dieing. Just to sum it up, the DMC games have been known for there hardness… ha ha… hardness… I said it…
either way the games are really hard, except a part of the saga I would rather not accept as part of DMC… *coughDMC2cough*. Let me begin this trip to the Underworld and back by saying the game looks and feels amazing. The graphics, aside from a few glitches here and there, the graphics were perfect. I know,
sound biased right, well I will give you the few of the bugs, the lip movements at times seem to be like a Chinese/ Japanese movie, it sucks I can’t show you clips of what I’m talking about, making this a little hard to imagine. I can tell you that if eye contact is the key to talking with someone, I would not like staring into these peoples eyes for longer than 10 seconds, the animations
seem to be completely lost in a normal eye ball in this game, even if some characters are supposed to have weird looking eyes, these characters have the worst lookin g eyes that I have ever seen, the only time Capcom made these any good, in this game anyway, was when they were only slits of red light on someone’s face.

The control scheme, at first, didn’t seem so responsive but that was probably due to the fact that I didn’t realize how to use the controls properly. Once you get used to the controls, you’ll be swinging your sword, shooting your gun and turning into a Devil with ease as you knock down hordes of enemies. If that was so easily said, yes you could if you had perfect practice and knew your way around this game, I managed to defeat enemy after enemy for a while, yet when someone blocks my attacks the
control seemed to freeze up, especially in the moments when I had the Trickster setting, which I will explain about later, allowing me to dodge the attack, leaving me in a frozen state, button still not responding till mid attack from him, magically working, like a character in an RPG who seems to vanish at the beginning of a big battle and magically comes back ready to fight a second
after the big boss is dead. Adding to the hard use of the controls, the legendary Capcom camera is in full affect, getting stuck in places it shouldn’t be, making some moves rather hard to pull off. To struggle even more, some attacks seemed to be blocked no matter what, as if no matter what move I pull, jump behind and attack, frontal attack or shooting attack, nothing works until
they start to attack you, seems like an unfair advantage to me. These guys are devils or demon like offspring of devils, that’s already more of an advantage than I have, I, not Dante, I’m just a simple human, even for a gamer my thumb and hand muscles have their bending points. Aside from bloody fingers, there
has been something new added, apart from the last games, Capcom introduces style modes, giving you a choice of style to fight with, in reference to the main couple forums are Trickster, the one mentioned before that allows you to dodge attacks, well some of the time, Gunslinger, which allows a dual use for
you weapon, weather it be juggling a shotgun from one hand to another, under you arms and around your back while shooting it, or with the bigger guns, just an added sound or grunt with the same shot as normally, Royal guard, the mode that allows you to block enemies attacks while taking less damage and able to
decide what you want to while not take all the damage of a full burst, yet it does break easy on the big bosses so it’s rendered useless in some fights, and finally Swordmaster, which allows some fancy sword work and multiplies the attack power. These moves are able to level up, three levels max, making each one look cooler as well as give you a bigger arsenal of moves to dish out. Adding to the mayhem, later on you get two new modes not very useful but cool when the times right, Doppelganger, which allows a clone of you in Devil Trigger mode to
help you fight for a short period of times, and Quicksilver, which slows down time for your enemies like a bad matrix system without the cool flips, but these can’t be leveled up, it sad to say the ones that could be more useful if they were leveled up, adding on the ability to do so much more with it, they choose not to. They had open ended ability on these modes but they stopped
short of the full potential the could of reached, lets just hope they can fix that in DMC

The weapons were a good selection, including a few the fans of the series would remember from the first, from powerful gauntlets to dual welding swords with the power of fire and wind, and even a magical purple electric guitar that controls bats, yes you heard me, a guitar that controls bats the with the more guitar solos you can do. In my opinion, freakin sweet, guitars and bats the two coolest things finally come together as one, powerful weapon. The choices were good and made for some decent combos. The guns however were not exactly original, the one that seems to be original seems to lack in the power area, you would think a
mythical gun of the gods would be more useful and the blast wouldn’t be pink. The mixture of gun and sword action, known by most of the DMC fans as the main focus of battle, seems to stay true to the saga, allowing for a powerful string of moves, making things stylish or Showtime, making the best level of combos.

The story, I hate to say, seems to insist upon it self in some areas, yes we know this is a prequel but do you need to point it out at every turn, a sentence from the first game, or making reference to something from the original games, even going so far as to try to make true what the original games had said before, just trying to prove that Dante and Vergil were once at war or pointing out that Dante once used certain weapons and fought certain enemies before their “first” encounter in DMC 1. Plain and simple, it tried to hard to prove it was a prequel. In most words, easy sum it up before I “officially” sum it up, this game is really for bastards because it’s a bastard game, as said by famous game reviewers Adam Sessler and Morgan Webb, which I
here by endorse due to the fact that I am technically a bastard, I happen to know another bastard when I see one and this game and Dante in general is a bastard. Sometimes good and sometimes bad.

To wrap this up, the game was good, almost perfect besides the low use of certain modes and weapons to the insistent story. I give this a must have, if you already have the DMC games, I would hope not DMC 2 but that mistake is your problem if you do, or if you love sword slinging, gun shooting, and/or demon slaying, but for you gamers who never liked or played the firsts, rent this and then rent the first, great games, from there you decide to buy if you want. If you want to hate this game,
or a reason not to even touch it, I’ll just say if you hate tough bosses, hordes of enemies, and stylish kills… well first off you shouldn’t even be playing games above Barbie Horse Adventure, and second you shouldn’t play this game.

    I rate it a 8.9 out of 10.0

And that’s it for this weeks review, and I just wanted to say I had so much fun playing this game as I did reviewing it. Now if you have a game you want me to review, just fill out this 4”X5’ card below… I mean shoot me an email at gamerguy18@gmail.com with the subject “Review 4 Me!” and I’ll get the game wrapped and rented as fast as you can cast a high level lightning spell at the lvl 4 Murlocks out there.....

The Most Fun You'll Have Getting Your Ass Kicked 0

Devil May Cry 3 is over the top.  Everything about the game is done in excess, which could be good or bad, but in this case it's mostly good.  After an excellent and stylish debut in 2001, Devil May Cry took a wrong turn with its 2003 sequel and disappointed many fans.  With the third installment, Capcom is attempting to get back to its roots.  While the game is titled "3," it's actually a prequel to the original game.  The story revolves around the relationship between Dante and his twin b...

A perfect example of hard not necessarily meaning crappy. 0

Some gamers today will tell you that games are easier than their older counterparts, that the translation into the third dimension sacrificed difficulty for new gameplay possibilities. I have written this review to tell you that is incorrect, and one of the best examples is this game, which will challenge you throughout. The gameplay experienced here is pure action, nothing less. You take the roll of Dante, a half demon devil hunter who kicks ass first and takes names later. You’ll spend a lot ...
