Overview
DF: Death Fighter commonly just called Death Fighter, is a one-on-one fighting game developed by PG Games, the one-man indie dev run by Kim Okkerstrøm.
The game is incredibly simplistic and lacks a single-player option. Players choose from a stable of five characters, including PG's mascot, Johnny, and set to whittle down their opponent's energy with basic attacks and special moves. Lacking hitboxes and any sort of sensory feedback (knockback, hitstun, popup, crumple, etc.) outside of noise, fights are usually over as quickly as they start.
Notably, this is the only game in the series to lack Instant Kill-style finishing moves for the cast.
Roster
- Jack - A mangy-looking bloke with messy hair and no traditional arms, instead having (holes? ports?) where tentacles come out of. He can summon a poison mist or blue orbs to attack with.
- Johnny - From PG Games' incredibly long-running platforming titles of the same name. Johnny can fling bolts of ice and turn his nose into a chainsaw-like apparatus to attack with.
- Morr - A psychopath who wields a more traditional chainsaw. He can also summon blue maggots to attack the opponent at their feet.
- Plant - A giant houseplant with a face, sitting in a pot (predating the same structure Piranha Plant would in a fighting game many years later). It can attack with eyebeams, pollen, and strangely, fireballs. Plant was originally a boss character in Johnny 2.
- Secruso - A black, shapeless blob that can create tentacle-like structures to fight with.
