Diablo 3 offline Petition
@ryanwho: Someone said that?Several people in that thread insisted PvP in Diablo wasn't something anyone cared about. I think these 2 announcements coming out in concert just caused a lot of apologists to not give enough room in their brain to reconcile both things at once. Constant online is fine in a world where MP matters, payed auctions are fine in a game where MP doesn't matter. So yes, people end up saying shit like that.
The announcements should have been spaced out so people could spin this news like its a good thing more eloquently.

Can I make a petition opposing stupid petitions and the people that make them?
I, like so many others here, would love to sign this.
When will people begin to understand that no one cares about their stupid internet petitions and decide to actually do something about it like NOT BUYING the game?
@xxNBxx: Internet petitions of this type have proven themselves wholly ineffective time and time again. That's really all I can say.
Instead I shall compose a stern letter to The Times conveying my displeasure with the recent turn of events.
In order for the real-money AH to work for Blizz, they'll have to make it that any character you play offline can never ever ever be taken online in any capacity, and if they do that then you'll never have any motivation to check out their real-money AH.
Signed, although I'm one of those people that doesn't play Call of Duty games anymore because I got sorta good with 104 deaths and 248 kills. Then I started school again and realised I should have probably done something more productive or artistically better or have more fun. Turns out I like Limbo, Gemini Rue and Dig-N-Rig more than Call of Duty, so I made my own boycott until they stopped fucking around with the Michael Bay shit.@Rufi91 said:

Signed
I don't think making offline characters offline-only will solve the security risk. In theory, at least, by forcing you to play online only, Blizzard can isolate certain functions to the servers. To enable offline play, the developers are required to put all of the programming logic on the client side, which exposes the game's operating secrets to the prying eyes of hackers and modders. Of course, this point is moot if people are able to host their own Diablo 3 servers, but as far as I know the whole idea is to not do that.
I am going to start an online petition to bring back that sitcom staring the Geico Cavemen. I bet it will be just as effective as every other online petition.
I never understood the appeal of offline diablo. It's a pretty shitty single player gameComment is a bit OTT.
I was always more of a multiplayer man myself but nevertheless there are many many people still playing single player Diablo exclusively and have been for over a decade. It's all about the metagame.

I am behind this 100%. But seriously it dose not matter what it is about, online pensions make you like an entitled bitch, Diablo 3 will be so focused on multiplayer that playing offline makes about as much scene as playing WOW offline.
Except websites don't require constant internet connection. They cache memory so it loads faster and when connections drop, a very common thing for wireless, the website doesn't close its window and make you start over. I can load up webpages from days ago with my connection turned off because its cached. So its a poor correlative all-around, really. But you're probably 13 or something so its fine.Giantbomb requires a constant internet connection to work. How dare they?! PETITION!!!!
In the end, this is about piracy, PC games get pirated the most and Blizzard is the last guy left in the ring. Emulating a private server is a different world than your typical rip. Of course, it won't stop the most determined but their logic is more people want to play online vs. offline anyway.
If you look at their other games, how many people pirate sc2 and wow vs. those that actually play the game online. The numbers explain themselves but I can trust that Blizzard knows how to do online rpgs fairly competently.

I don't understand why having an internet connection to play a game is that big of a deal... especially considering the people signing these petitions are on the fucking internet.
It's a bit disconcerting how hard the concept is to understand. Here this might help: http://www.giantbomb.com/diablo-iii/61-20803/diablo-iii-to-require-always-on-internet-connection-at-all-times/35-508809/#113 there are several explanations offered in the thread. They should be relatively easy to understand. @Mikemcn: @Beyond_the_infinite: @emergency: Such simpleminded dismissal of the "always online DRM" issue is getting rather tiresome. Rather then repeat the same things ad nauseum, I'll refer you to the thread above.

This "irony" is boring as fuck and is about as common as the concept of the "first" in comments. It's only an irony to some one who is new to the internet. Otherwise this is commonly known as "trolling".
@xxNBxx: Simple petitions indeed rarely if ever work. They need to be better organised and have real monetary backing to them to have any effect. The easiest such feedback is via preorders. Here is a better example of a succesfull push against something ingame: http://www.giantbomb.com/battlefield-3/61-27006/the-battlefield-3-pre-order-dlc-boycott/35-501807/#155
The more self entitled zealots that post in this thread, the happier I am that this game will most certainly have online DRM.

I'm sure its been said.
If you dont have internet, theres no chance of you finding and signing this petition.
What has been said over and over is that internet access =/= stable, uninterupted, constant and easily accessible internet.

@Tennmuerti: What the fuck are you talking about? Making a petition to stop petitions is definitley ironic, thinking so does not make me "new to the internet". And really, are you calling a simple joke trolling? I guess you didn't find it funny, tough luck, I don't give a shit. No one should have taken offense by that without having a stick so far up their ass, that it could be used as a periscope.
Not sorry, it's not ironic. Just stupid. There is a difference. The periscope bit was actually funny tho, made me chuckle :)

I'm curious should gamers never voice their concerns or issues with the game according to you?
If you're gonna go for the "vote with your dollar" line, then I would partially agree, but that only works post release and unfortunately deprives one of a game you would have otherwise enjoyed.

'or no internet still want to play Diablo 3' is the thing OP said i was focusing on
You can personally not have internet, but still have internet access in other forms, like a net cafe for example or work.
@Jack268 said:
Why would you want to split offline and online characters again?
To be able to play SP without having to be 100% online at all times. Kind of obvious.
I think many people are afraid that the game might crash or so if you have an unstable internet connection but to be honest there are millions of people who play WoW and I have never heard that bad internet connection was a too big problem.
Also I don't want people to hack the game offline somehow and play online then.
