Until the company's merger withImaginEngine Corp., Digital Eclipse Software, Inc. developed conversions of classic Williams Atari titles for modern home computer systems, such as Defender (Game), Ms.Pac-Man or Marble Madness (Game), many of which were released in compilations. Following the merger, the company was renamed Backbone Entertainment (Company) and went on to produced original and many licensed games for various systems. In June 2015, Digital Eclipse reemerged newly reformed under original founder Andrew Ayre with their first new project, Mega Man Legacy Collection (Game).
