Action RPG (Action Role-Playing Game), also known as ARPG, refers to RPGs (role-playing games) that use direct, real-time, reflex-oriented, action combat systems, instead of the more abstract turn-based or menu-based battle systems.
Character Creation refers to characters created by players themselves, rather than developers.
Also called Diablo-esque or Dungeon Crawler ARPGs, this sub-genre was very popular in the 2000s and 2010s and spawned many successful franchises. Usually played from an isometric perspective focused on dungeon exploration, killing hordes of enemies, complex loot systems and creating different character builds.
