    Overview

The disposable hero is a gameplay convention where maintaining the main character's health is not a requirement to win a fight. This is in contrast to titles in which the game ends if the protagonist is defeated.

A disposable hero is of strategic significance in that it eliminates the necessity to keep the party leader alive at all costs.

    Examples

    The Warden (Dragon Age)

    Rolf Landale (Phantasy Star II)

    Marche (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance)

    L'arc (Arc Rise Fantasia)
