So i started playing DOSII and i was figuring out how to escape fort joy. I found the teleportation gloves and teleported my self into the fort and just sneaked my entire party out the back trough the docks. But now everytime i trigger a fight, my party just runs back to the docks and wants to fight the magisters there. Problem is that the magisters there kind of kick my ass. Anyone run into something similar?

I really don't want to start over.

EDIT: Re-read your post and realised my question was irrelevant hah.

But what do you mean by they run back? They run back during the fight and consume AP? Or are the other 3 out of the fight and run away? If you get stuck in a fight you can't win you can run away in the fight and use the flee button to disengage.

Teleporting and sneaking through the fort is an intentional thing they put into the game, it shouldn't be the cause for your issue.

They just aggro the magisters there. it seems the ai is busted or something.

Can you unlink all of your party members, and move them separately to safety? Then you might be able to find your way to a Wayshrine outside the fort, teleport everyone together, and see if it fixes the bug?

Otherwise you are very close to the start and could just speed through again.

So they aggro and initiate a fight? Try running away from all the enemies during the fight and using the flee button when you get far enough away.

yeah i tried fleeing, but it keeps happening. it's the weirdest thing.

Maybe i'll just bite the bullet and start again. How viable is it to play lone wolf with a max party of two?

Don't you have a bunch of earlier auto and quick saves?

Lone Wolf is stronger than a party of 4.

Yeah, but i rolled a ranger for my main dude and not really happy to be honest, i want a more melee focused char. Something with a bitchin two hander.

@syndrom: Ranger is one of the strongest classes if you end up going Lone Wolf. 2H is good though, too. Just be ready to up your difficulty to Tactician because Lone Wolf makes Classic trivially easy.

Try sneaking and make sure you press L-shift to see vision cones of people and maybe you can avoid the fight.

Ideally though you should try and do more in Fort Joy so you're properly leveled for what's outside of the fort.

    @finaldasa:

the problem is that every fight triggered that sequence.

anyway i started over with a inquisitor and a ranger as a companion, both lone wolvin. trying out some other stuff now in fort joy.

I have restarted the game at least three times now! I wouldn't be too afraid of doing so; you get a bit more familiar with the class system each time you do so, and you can get through the ship introduction pretty quick once you know where to go.

I did the exact same thing but never encountered this bug. After doing everything on the main island and got a bit overleveled I went back and killed everyone in the fort. Unhelpful to you but really satisfying for me.

I'm not sure i get what the problem is, but i will say, any character that escapes Fort Joy will trigger a fight if the magisters sees them come back. It wasn't communicated very well that that would have happened. Considering you've stuck out, i would have assumed i could walk back in, without anyone knowing i was gone, as long as i still had my collar on, but that is not the case. Apparently, news spreads fast in Fort Joy.

I think it is an issue with the teleport spell. I ran into a similar behavior when teleported one of my party members to an area that triggered a fight. Instead of staying in that spot she ran all the way back to where the others are (real time running, not AP based, and not interruptible), and then went into combat mode.

So it seems like you ran into a similar thing although in a more complicated scenario.
