A game mechanic popularized by Epic's Gears of War. The player while in cover shoots "blindly" at the enemy. Used in conjunction with suppressive fire to stop the opposing team in their tracks.
Necessary to sustain life in organic creatures, the crimson fluid known as blood tends to make appearances when the body's structure is compromised in some way, a very, very common occurrence in videogames.
Bloodmounts are creatures that come from the Hollow. They are enslaved by the Locust and ridden into combat. They are notably the only creature from the Hollow to be tamable.

Circle-strafing is strafing around a target while facing it. This is useful for disorienting the target's aim, making for an easier kill.
The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) is the current and only form of government left on the planet Sera in Gears Of War. You play as Marcus Fenix, a soldier for the COG fighting to defend Sera from the invading Locust forces that are coming from underground.
When two or more players work together to control a vehicle.
A large spider like creature from the Hollow. The Locust use them to make large E-holes, big enough for Brumaks to march out of.

A glitch used in Gears of War that allows the player to 'roady run' constantly while still being allowed to fire every gun. Pressing the A or B button will cancel the glitch however.
Effective and brutal way to put an opponent down. Involves stomping on the back of someone's head while they're in a prone position.
Destructible cover is an increasingly popular feature in shooters, even those without cover systems. It is used to encourage creative tactics both in single-player and multiplayer.
The ability to dodge an attack, making the player untouchable for a brief period.
A lambent drone that is capable of sprouting multiple arms to fend off attackers. The glowing torso is its weak spot.
A moment in a game where the main character walks slowly or stands/kneels still with their finger in their ear, hearing mission details.
Emergence Day is the day when the Locust Horde emerged from the underground caverns of the planet Sera and launched a full-scale attack on its residents. Around 1/4 of the human population was eradicated within the first 24 hours.
The player character jumps on the back of an enemy during a battle to take control of them.

Always a fun time in any game, the explosive tipped arrow puts a great spin on a classic weapon.
