Right at the end of October some of the people behind Brutal Doom (a mod pack with a TON of features but a big focus on gore and guns) released something similar for Doom 64, released obviously on the N64. It's less of a full replacement for the game than it is all the normal guns with the extra dismemberment and of course playable on PC. If you're more familiar with Doom 64 there may be obvious things I'm not realizing are totally different, so by all means share. This is easily the most of this game I've ever played as it's way better with quick saves etc.
I read somewhere it's been suggested this was supposed to be the real Doom 3, and the story of DOOM (2016) may be related to this one but I can't say much to that. So far all I gather is I am a space marine that invaded hell and apparently it was a trap but they weren't ready for me? Hell, it's Doom.
The same way Brutal Doom got me playing through both originals again modded and vanilla I thought this might inspire someone to go back to blasting imps apart. If you're interested find the link at the ModDB Brutal Doom 64 page and make sure you have Doom 2 installed or the WAD available to point the game at it. That download contains Zandronum and is a unzip-one-click and you're running (If it can't find Doom 2 it will ask you for the WAD) but the mod is compatible with any of the modern doom engines.
