For some reason I always remember this date, and wow, it's been 20 years!? I remember that Doom didn't take long to get around my high school probably soon after this or early 1994. Fond memories of freshman computer class playing LAN games over the Netware IPX network much to the chagrin of our poor teacher. :)

I just finished the first Doom last year, it's still a great game and holds up pretty well.

I dunno if you guys know this, but Doom is pretty good. I was barely one year old when it came out.

Doom is pretty damn cool, I'm from the same year but have played many times over. A great classic.

Funny thing, when I clicked on this thread I randomly got a track from the Doom soundtrack playing on my playlist :)

Edit: It was Sign of Evil by the way - oh and here have the full soundtrack for Doom 1 and 2 in single video, because why not...

Doom is so damn good. That level design is just fucking great. Best shotgun in a game ever. It's a shame Doom 2 had that terrible "city" level design that was just like someone vomited in the map creator.

I played through Doom in coop this Saturday with my uncle, cousin and brother to celebrate the anniversary. Still great fun. Awesome atmosphere, shooting, enemy designs and maps. While most levels took 10-15 minutes to complete, we spent more than half an hour on Mt Erebus. That level is so damn confusing.

I played Doom on the PS1 and this theme is so damn good.
