    from Gamerbytes

"Speculation as to why Doom was pulled revolves around rights issues involving  id Software's acquisition by Zenimax and the XBLA title being published by Activision. "

Outrun Arcade is also being pulled at the end of this year due to licensing issues.

Edit: Supposedly the game file is not up for download after you access it in your download history, so if you delete it you can't redownload it.

I was actually sort of vaguely considering buying this one day, so I am displeased. But whatever, everybody owns like 6 copies for the PC...load up the WAD in Zdoom, you are rocking.

@MrKlorox: I'm guessing achievements are the biggest thing going for it.

So far there's been a good list of games that have been taken off the marketplace, a part of me still wishes I bought Double Dragon XBLA even though when I remember not enjoying it enough to buy it when it came out. (Though it was rumored for Game Room...which is now somewhat a pipe dream)

Was Cyberball for XBLA any good? thats another one I missed

It actually works really well with a controller. Mouse look doesn't add anything unless you can look up and down...like when you use Zdoom...

I'm guessing that they could, but it's probably easier said than done.

Has any game that has been pulled from XBLA or PSN download service ever been "republished" and brought back on the market?

Too many ports of Doom to care. If I wanted to I would bust out the Doom 3 limited edition disc on the Xbox and play it that way. The real question is where's Doom 4?

Leaderboards.  The scoring system they implemented was brilliant.  I like knowing I'm one of the best Doom players in the world.

I don't think anything has been put back on Xbox Live or PSN after being taken off, but Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is supposed to be coming packed-in with MK1 and 2 on disc closer to the new MK release, isn' it?

Damn just found out thru someone over at the joystiq forums that if you delete the game off your hard drive that it might not be up for download in your download history.

" I just migrated my Xbox over two days ago and when you click on Doom in your history it says "File is no longer available for download". So basically if it gets wiped from your hard drive you're SOL. "

So basically don't delete it if you have it on your hard drive already

@KingPossum: I redownloaded it through my Download History (through the Xbox 360, not xbox.com)  and it went fine.  Probably still a good idea to not delete it, but it's still accessible for the time being.

They might have to re-port it. Activision might own the rights to that specific port. Hell, Activision might own the right to publish any version of DOOM on xbla.
