@dusker: Worth a shot. Jealous that everyone has excessive invites. Been trying to invite my friends into the Dota 2 world.

@foggel: You should read some beginner's guides before you play. Here are some http://www.joystiq.com/2012/11/08/surviving-the-basics-of-dota-2/ and http://www.dotafire.com/dota-2/guide/a-full-support-guide-beginner-to-intermediate-2094.

There are hero guides on Dotafire and some succinct ones on http://www.dota2alttab.com/ (builds, gameplay etc.).

If you haven't played MOBAs before, you will die *a lot*, but don't be discouraged. Play as conservatively as you can. Not dying, but not getting kills is WAY better than dying a bunch.

If I'm playing, you can always hit me up to play. I'll try to save you.

I second this. Welcome to Dota, You Suck is an amazingly good guide. It also seems like there are way more people who play Dota 2 on Giant Bomb than I thought. Maybe most of you aren't hardcore no-life nerds at it like me?
