I'm not sure how to feel about this or handle it. This thread has turned into the top result for "dota 2 giveaway" on Google. On one hand, it is leading to a lot of people signing up for the site who otherwise may never have heard of it. Conversely, most of these people are signing up only to ask for keys and will most likely never be seen again...what do you think is the best way to handle this topic and the key spam it was intended to combat?

Maybe make a steam group and link it in the original post? Im not very familiar with how steam handles "discussions" but i assume it will suffice for this. They should already have a steam account, so no need to make a GB account just to ask for a key.
Hey guys, I'd love a key if anyone has one available, I don't have many posts but I've been a member of the site for far longer than this thread so I didn't sign up here just for free stuff, only prefer lurking and reading to posting much...
Poyples is my steam ID if there's any available. Thanks.
I still have a couple but Im not going to give it to 1 posters or people who have not been a member that long...private message me if you have been a member for a while or have at least 50 post where in that many you have not begged for free stuff....didnt join Giant bomb to hand out to freeloaders...
So, as many people did as well, i signed up for the key, but this place seems cool so i'll stick around and wont just use this to spam for keys and shit,
so Yeah: Steam Username: AccidentPr0neMusic. (i think thats all you need)
@WeXaztor: i can not add you on steam since i don't have any game in steam. i can not use the friend function. can you send a key to my email? thx.. xlp1021@gmail.com
here is my steam profile: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198082540534/
I say don't give your beta keys to people that created their accounts today and don't own a single game like the one above just me. I'm guessing they are not in it to play Dota 2.
There should be a rule to link profiles only if you want a key, no email addresses to avoid hoarders.
EDIT: If you are a real person with that want to play dota 2 and have a steam account that is not obviously a sockpuppet account, send me a friend request here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Forcen/ I have 11 invites.
Hey guys, I don't know if this counts as selling but we're doing a free giveaway to subscribers on our channel and we have stupid amount of copies to hand out so feel free to pop along. Sorry in advance if this is a naughty post, I don't want to get in trouble so I'll understand if it gets removed!
Want an invite? Add me on Steam: http://steamcommunity.com/id/Flavius/
I have 5 invites at the moment.
Note: I wont give invites to brand new Steam accounts, or to accounts who already have Dota 2 activated (the full game, the spectator client is fine).
Edit: 3 invites left. Grab them while they're hot!
@Forcen: The spectator client will look something like this: http://i.imgur.com/risBl.jpg
Not sure if you can tell the difference without launching the client though.
Someone made a bot to receive/give out copies of dota2. I donated a few of my copies to it, and figured we might want to toss it in the OP. Profile has instructions on using it.
Hi,
Valve seems to have gone crazy recently and they've given me 18 codes.
This is me http://steamcommunity.com/id/RichieJT87 add me and message me if you want one.
@neoneoane: @prismatic: If you have Dota 2 invites to spare, link your profile and let them add you instead of adding people to prevent people from hoarding invites. People can't send you friend requests if they don't have a paid game on their account.
Lots of people are hoarding invites for some reason, using accounts created the same day they post., just look at post #174.
If you genuinely want a Dota 2 invite, you can add the Dota 2 bot and get one or buy one for 0.02€/$.
You can also add me if you seem like a regular steam user that owns games and didn't create the account yesterday.
If you seem to have played the game before or I don't feel like it i might not accept your request.
@forcen: You might be right. If anyone wants a Dota 2 invite they can send me a friend request and a message on Steam. http://steamcommunity.com/id/neoneoane/
Anyways, this whole invite business it getting really tiresome. It was fun the first 3 times but now Valve's just spamming my profile with the stuff. They could at least give out home Dota2 exp or gear for all my hard work, but nope, I get nothing. This might be the greatest marketing ploy ever.
@neoneoane: You could give them all to the dota 2 bot or sell them for 0.02$ each.
