Action RPG (Action Role-Playing Game), also known as ARPG, refers to RPGs (role-playing games) that use direct, real-time, reflex-oriented, action combat systems, instead of the more abstract turn-based or menu-based battle systems.
Characters either begin with multiple outfits, unlock them through play, or purchase them as in-game items. These costumes are sometimes integral to play.
Classes are different archetypes and playstyles that players can choose to play their game with.
Some games let players customize their character (or characters). Degree of customization may vary, with some games simply allowing to choose between different types of clothes, while others provide more detailed tinkering of features such as the distance between a character's eyes or hair color.
The evil horde of twisted beings that, under the leadership of an Archdemon, threaten all of Thedas once every few hundred years, in the form of a Blight. They are essentially generic fantasy orcs, goblins, and trolls, lumped together as one race and given different names.
Games that can link up to Facebook for additional features.
When a developer begs and pleads and offers to do laundry for even a tiny guest appearance, sometimes those famous characters will still flake on them. At least they still have their laundry.
Equines that go 'neigh' and tend to eat hay. Some are the stars of motion pictures. The truest of companions to many adventurers.
It's arguably the one move that symbolizes the medium to those outside it. The ability to jump, be it onto a building, a platform, or a skull, is one of the all time most important abilities ever put in a video game.
An umbrella term for any sexual orientation or gender identity that is not straight.
The concept of affecting the universe through supernatural methods, breaking the fundamental laws of science.
An online multiplayer grouping system that allows players to join a party and "travel" from match to match together automatically.
Games which allow players to interact with others over the internet.
Console games that derive from a past PC exclusive release, either due to popular demand or poor sales.
At the start of the game the player is given a Keep, though it's not much of one at the start. The keep can be expanded with new rooms, workshops, storehouses, and more. Workers can be hired for the workshops as well, and will make potions and bombs over real time. When the game was available on Facebook most expansions of the keep would take either a massive infusion of gold, or a real money transaction.
A man or woman working the world's oldest profession. He/she might provide you a cutscene, health, or be a background NPC for an urban setting.
The tall, muscular race known as the qunari are a stoic and poorly understood people who follow the way of the Qun, sacrificing their own individuality for group cohesion. Part of BioWare's Dragon Age franchise.
The assassins of the darkspawn, Shrieks are known for their long, jagged blades attached to their forearms and for the ear-splitting cries they emit in battle.
Slashing weapons are designed to cut and slice rather than causing blunt trauma. Examples include swords, axes, claws, naginatas, or even whips.
Forced labor, indentured servitude, humans relegated to property. One of the greatest affronts to individual freedom. Some games employ this as a gameplay mechanic or a major story point.
An aesthetic sub-genre of fantasy, focusing on brutal barbarians and arcane wizardly magic.
The political and military face of humanity in the Mass Effect universe.
A militant knightly order who answer to the Chantry, tasked with "monitoring" Mages and hunting down those who refuse to do as the Chantry says.
The religion of Ferelden and much of the rest of Thedas. Followers believe in The Maker and the teachings of His prophet, Andraste.
Turn-based games divide game actions into distinct parts, called turns. This gives the player time to strategically choose actions as the battle or events unfold.
