Steam is now offering Dragon Age: Origins (normal and deluxe editions) at slight discounts. 5 dollars extra for the Deluxe Edition as opposed to 15, with at least 15+ bucks worth of content (adding in that new DLC and whatever) packed in and tons of other shit. Hop on this, I have no idea if it'll last.
Dragon Age: Origins
Game » consists of 20 releases. Released Nov 03, 2009
Dragon Age: Origins is an epic fantasy role-playing game featuring a rich story, personality-driven characters, and tactical, bloody combat. It is considered a spiritual successor to the Baldur's Gate series.
Buy this on Steam *NOW* (55 dollar Deluxe Edition)
This." Sorry, the game breaks my computer so that won't be happening "
Plus those pre-order bonuses arent for me.
" Once again, I get fucked over for having a Mac and not having my windows partition up and running :( I'll probably end up playing this on console (ewww). "Why not just order it anyway and download it when you get your stuff up and running again? You don't have to have Steam installed to buy it. You can purchase it from their website.
Just got to it! Thanks a lot for the head's up though. I pulled out of my Gamestop pre-order the moment I heard Steam was offering a DD version. Now I'm that much happier I did, since I'm saving some small change for my troubles.
Once again, Valve comes through!
Damn you kids and your fancy high powered computers. I get to pay $5 more for the probably inferior console version.
My laptop can run it, but only at the lowest settings....
Graphics or content?
....Who am I kidding, content it is.
Damn man did that pre purchase deal end already? That Deluxe edition is £10 more, I'd buy it a £5 but not £10. The game itself costs £30 for gods sake. I think I'll wait a bit before ordering. You never know what will happen to the prices on Steam
" Sorry guys, it looks like it's gone back up to $64.99 now. Glad I was able to get the word out to a few people at least :-P "Thanks a lot for the heads up, man. Your post here saved me $10! I pre-ordered DA:O from EB Games a long time ago, but now that I ordered the Deluxe Edition on Steam, I can give the hard copy version to my wife who's also been looking forward to this, and now I also get the cloth map and the steam-exclusive ring, woo!
Really appreciate it, Jagye. Thanks a bunch!
Cancelled my pre-order with Amazon last night because i saw that deal on steam. It's a crazy great deal :)
I might have to do this now, because I just realised the UK collector's edition doesn't even come with the cloth map. I am burning up with rage." @Jimbo said:
" You can't download a cloth map, so forget it. "Real men make their own. I've been collecting berries and flowers and brewing dyes for about 4 months now, they're plentiful in the woods behind my house. "
The best bit about the UK collector's edition though? "Plastic Collectors Box"! Beat that!
Well - I heard it's because you British made a mess out of your pound yet demand cheap prices for your videogames !
But yea, it really sucks that the only region to get a mediocre Collector's Edition is the UK. Makes me wonder why us mainland Euro folk aren't being treated like kings with the current prices we're dropping down for games in terms of Dollars :/
