    Dragon Age

    Franchise »

Dragon Age is a series of fantasy medieval role-playing games by BioWare. BioWare considers it a spiritual successor to their Baldur's Gate RPG gaming series. It is furthered upon through the creation of comics, books and other forms of media. Truly this is the age of dragons.

Surely I can't be the only one annoyed by the lack of accents in the game? Why is it that dwarves, elves, and humans all speak with the same (mid-western) accent? Granted, its a common tongue, but even in the US there are hundreds of different accents.

Are you suggesting that Dragon Age consist entirely of Peter Griffing talking to Bugs Bunny :P?

Fereldans and half of Thedas have British accents. Dwarves all have American accents except for Bodahn, and that might be because he's trying to appear trustworthy to Thedosians. In Dragon Age 2 they establish that Dalish elves have Irish or Welsh accents, and City elves have American or British accents. Orlesians are French, Antivans are Spanish.

Couldnt have said it better myself. And although there has been nobody from there shown yet, the Anderfels are effectively Germany, so they'll have german accents. The OP may need to have his hearing checked - especially as a large percentage of the first game was spoken in an english accent.

Granted in DAO only Leliana has the accent (from being in Orlesia) so maybe he was talking about the first game
