Dragon Age
Dragon Age is a series of fantasy medieval role-playing games by BioWare. BioWare considers it a spiritual successor to their Baldur's Gate RPG gaming series. It is furthered upon through the creation of comics, books and other forms of media. Truly this is the age of dragons.
Dragon Age III ideas
Just a simple topic decide which features you don't want to return, things you want kept, things you want added and things you want tweaked in Dragon Age III (if there is one)
Better story
A lot more variety in areas.
Party customization.
More variety in equipment (Weapons, armor)
Removed:
No more spamming enemies out of thin air.
Junk loot
Dialogue wheel
Kept:
Voice acting
Interesting characters (Some were, some weren't)
Graphics (Looks alright for an rpg game)
Tweaked:
Make side quests more interesting and meaningful.
More dept in combat (No more exploding bodies)
Added:
More dev time
More environments
Remove:
vendor trash
Keep:
voice acting
dialogue wheel
Tweak:
Combat
diffuclty
Added:
- More skill trees/class/power options
- Continue the Morigan story
- Drop the stupid chat wheel
- Add in the voiced main character
- Let me choose my race instead of making me generic human #3636567
- Get people who can actually animate characters for this game
- Bring back the feel of the first games combat. That includes being able to scroll out to tactic view for spell placement.
- Varied levels like the first game.
- Remove the stupid armour system you have in 2.
- Make characters I actually give a shit about for my party like the first game.
- Make my choices matter, and don't retcon my choices or make them nothing more then a 2 sec chat with generic peasant on the street #856847.
Shame they are just going to make it an action game again to appeal to the console people.
I feel like they are going to bring the morragan story back. They seem to be setting flemith to be a big player.
Also be nice if they brought the option for a second weapon set.
@Jay444111
as much as im enjoying this game the story implodes onitself in the third act and the pacing is terrible
- More specialisation options.
- More companions (variety )
- THE ABILITY TO PLAY AS A QUNARI!!!!!!!!!!!
- The fast combat.
- Play style (I liked the hack n' slash).
- GORE but not exploding bodies.
- Graphics
- Dicky characters (ahem FENRIS & SEBASTIAN)
- Repetition (Same enemies, Same areas)
- Graphics
- Companion armour (Seriously I shouldn't have to say EA)
- Customisation (Race, hair, beards, tattoos etc)
Add
- Tactical camera
- Companions with unique skill trees (Shale, DAO Dog)
- The abilitiy to choose a race (and as fantomex100 said, playing as a qunari would be awesome)
Remove
- Do not bother transferring save files from previous games if they bear little significance or that they are just gonna be retconned
- The blantaly reused dungeons
- Fetch quests
- 18 month development cycle
- The art direction, it looks nice and all but it lacks the vibrance of the original
- Enemies respawning out of fucking nowhere
Keep
- The respec potion (cannot emphasise how awesome this is)
- The fast paced combat
- A plot which does not necessary involve the blight or darkspawn
- The menu UI
- A unique skill tree for every companion
- The friendship/rivalry bar
Add:
- Better save file transferring from previous game (I sided with the mages that has to have some significance right)
- More races (By this I mean full on races like the Dwarves and elves etc.)
- Lions. If the games set in Orlais I want more lion themed stuff. I sent my last play through with the Fadeshear sword, the Lion of Orlais shield and the Golden Princes Raiment (without the ridiculous helmet) so I'm into the whole Orlais idea. AND SHIT HAS TO BE GOLD cause every character in DAII that was Orlesian seemed as though they would have gold plated crap.
- Varric (He was the only companions I never went without)
- The speech thing since in the first game nearly everything to certain characters was flirting.
- The shininess, I only noticed it recently but if you pan the camera right you can see the light shining of the lion of orlais
The only part of Dragon Age II I liked were the loading screens and Emily Carroll did those.
" The only part of Dragon Age II I liked were the loading screens and Emily Carroll did those. So trueEmily Carroll should just be in charge of everything."
" It makes me sad that they are most likely going to go back to their typical story of recruit people, and save the world. :( "I would be okay with that if they did it well.
Bring back the people with the ideas that made the first game so amazing and stop letting your corporate conglomerate make the decisions for you. Basically, make it like Dragon Age. Except tweaked. And more. And pick up the story where it actually left off.
If you want more specific ideas...
Keep the average difficulty hard. As hard as Origins on a level between Normal and Hard. Bring back the fun of early game combat by having every battle feel like a struggle when you're only up against a handful of guys. Make power usage in order to survive a must. Make tactical positioning of units as important as it was in the first game. *Don't* make it like late game Origins/ what I've played of 2 where the goal seems to be making you feel like a "badass" by throwing countless fodder enemies at you that you can kill in one or two hits. It doesn't make me feel powerful, it makes the game feel tedious.
Bring back character customization and the crazy awesome way that every different gender/race/class combination played differently and had many nifty story implications. It made playing through the game as many times as I have fun each and every time.
Stop with the character cliches. I think the only NPC in Origins that was fairly uninteresting was Zevran (not including the throwaway Dog companion). From what I've played of 2, the only character I'm really interested in is Varric. It sounds like they made Anders an actual character (albeit a dick), so possibly him as well.
Bring back the old art direction and/or write a new engine. Origins looks fucking amazing on PC, but horrible on consoles. 2 looks even worse on both.
Either make it a PC strategy-focused game again, or split the console and PC versions entirely so that it's possible. Designing the game around one control scheme and slapping together the other port doesn't cut it. Allow the PC version to play as Origins did, and allow the console versions to play like 2 did. At least make the decision about which type of game to make it an option under the game settings if you're worried about splitting the two audiences and making as much money as possible.
Cut nothing from the game and keep your DLC to yourself, unless you're willing to bring in a full quality expansion pack developed by the same team that worked on the full game.
" To be completely honest, after what happened with Dragon Age II, I don't think there's anything Bioware can do that will come close to matching the ridiculous expectations placed on their games by their fans. "Ridiculous expectations such as "Don't reuse a handful of level maps about a dozen times each"?
So now theres proof of DAIII existence I hoped they look over these comments...............but i don't think they will to be honest.
Having played DA:O, Morrigan is the best part of that game, especially if you join her in the DLC. Bring that back somehow.
More variety in the dungeons is my only complaint really.
@Hailinel said:same@CL60 said:I disagree, I thought the story in DA2 was quite good.It makes me sad that they are most likely going to go back to their typical story of recruit people, and save the world. :(It would certainly be better than the tripe they cooked up for DA2.
needs multi-playerNO!
