Dragon Ball Z: Idainaru Son Gokuu Densetsu (loosely translated to "Dragon Ball Z: Legend of the Great Son Goku") is a 2D fighting game developed by BEC and published by Bandai for the PC Engine (in Super CD-ROM² format) exclusively in Japan on November 11, 1994.

Based on the Dragon Ball manga and anime series, Idainaru Son Gokuu Densetsu re-tells seven key battles of martial artist Goku, from his fight against the mercenary Tao Pai Pai to his battle against the android Cell. The game's overarching story is shown through cutscenes, as an adult Gohan is telling his kid brother Goten stories about their father Goku (who died before Goten was born). Other characters from the series occasionally come by to help tell each story.

Unlike other fighting games, this game uses a simplistic control scheme and features a unique two-phase fighting system: the first being a no-damage tug-of-war fight to determine which fighter would make a damaging attack and the second determining how much of an effect that attack has (based on the KI and the each character's "stance" at the end of the first phase).
