On-Rails

An on-rails game behaves much like a train: while sometimes the player can choose which path is taken, they cannot deviate from it. Sometimes on-rails games even go so far as to decide when the player moves.
Opening Credits During Gameplay

Usually leading up to a late title card, some games put opening credits at the beginning of the game while you're actually playing! This is usually done to make the whole thing feel more cinematic.
Opening Helicopter Sequence

Games that begin with the protagonist flying in a helicopter, often this is used to introduce the game's characters to the player.
Travel Section

A level or sequence of a game where the player may only observe the game world passing by. Usually taking place on a vehicle, such a level may introduce a player to an environment, or indicate transition from one area of a game to a contrasting one.
