The recording artist who is the voice of Duke Nukem, Jon St. John has recently been quoted regarding the apparent state of the game's development.  In response to a fan's question regarding that subject he stated:-
 

"I’m not allowed to speak on that subject, sir."

"He’s asking about Duke Nukem Forever, let me go ahead and tell you right now that I’m not allowed to talk about Dukem Nukem Forever."

"No, no, don’t be disappointed, read between the lines… why am I not allowed to talk about it?"

 

At this point, I don't know how I feel anymore.

I don't care.  At this point, even if the game does come out, it's not going to be as good as it should be.

There are a great many reasons I can think of why he wouldn't be allowed to talk about it, what with all the litigation surrounding that title. 
 
Not one of the reasons coming to my mind has anything to do with that game still coming out.

Except if you watch the vid, he makes it pretty clear that it is, without saying so upfront.  There's a reason why he's @ Counterpoint.  He hasn't done any other recent gamework.

Its not clear enough to get my hopes up.

Not that big of a Duke fan but this is quite awesome.

Hope to see this game come out sometime in the near future.

Yeah. I could care less at this point. DNF has been and will always be a perfect example of how not to make a game.

Thing is nobody really cares anymore in the least bit.

Good news. Other people involved in the project saying things about the game... hmmm...

I'm one of those who would much rather see the compilation of unfinished work on the game, in its various stages, in a collectors box. The most ambitious Duke Nukem game I could see coming out these days would be something like that Matt Hazard Live arcade game, and that's not saying much.
