I'm sure some of you noticed, as Patrick just retweeted the PR company for Duke on Twitter. Kind of sad, really....

Game » consists of 14 releases. Released Jun 14, 2011

The PR company threatening to not distribute games to certain reviewers based on their reviews.I'm confused, who are you calling tacky?
Waiting to see how long it is before Take 2 releases a statement saying that PR firm went rogue and they won't be employed in the future. Not only is it tacky, it's dumb on their part...unless whoever runs their twitter account is a huge Duke fan, and then it's hilarious.
edit- oh, and trhe PR company just apologized, said they acted out of emotion, and will be issuing private apologies to whoever they secretly-publicly insulted. Nothing to see here...
I was following this as well, and it's disgusting. Not to dredge up old memories, but this PR Firm's stance has a very Kane & Lynch vibe to it. Very disgusting play on their part, and this "apology" is very telling. How DARE you threaten magazines/websites for their reviews of a game. The PR Firms job is to spin things, and they failed at that too. Spin the reviews by saying something like, "This is a resurrection of a classic franchised mostly designed through it's original creators, but completed by Take 2."
Make it a triumph of Gearbox releasing the unreleasable, and spinning the fact that now Duke has found a home that future releases will receive a proper revival. See "TheRednerGroup" I just did your bullshit job for you. It wasn't that hard.
This is disgusting, and insulting. Not just to reviewers, but in general to all those who appreciate journalistic pursuits at any level. Shame on you "TheRednerGroup". You should hire a PR Firm, not to spin this for you, but to show you how to do your damn job.
Should they be a bully about reviews? No. But in their defense with lines like this "Its a game with an odious personality, one that could only endear itself to the sociopathic and mentally maladjusted." - Jim Sterling , Destructoid
Seriously, why do people type 'r' and 'b' like that? Are the words 'are' and 'be' so long that you need shorthand? Goddamn, I hate Twitter.

@PrivateIronTFU: 140 characters is why. Shorter your words the more you can fit into a message.
Which just proves my point that Twitter is fucking awful.
Well, you can only use 140 characters, so you have to make some abbreviations, and those are the words that have easy abbreviations everyone can understand. If you shortened "reviews" to "rvws" no one would know what you are talking about, so to save a few characters they shorten "are" and "be". It's not a big deal, really.Seriously, why do people type 'r' and 'b' like that? Are the words 'are' and 'be' so long that you need shorthand? Goddamn, I hate Twitter.
Ummmmm, how?Which just proves my point that Twitter is fucking awful.
@supermike6: It saves you, what, like two characters? The way I see it is, if you can't fit your original thought into 140 characters, you probably shouldn't be using Twitter to begin with.
I know this thread was created first, but the alternative has much more detail, so I'm going to redirect the discussion over there.
