I've lost count on how many engines it has gone through but, at it's current state that is currently suspended from being modified by Take-Two, what engine is Duke Nukem Forever using?

I think they're using the Wolfenstein 3D engine now. Nice and simple. :P

Nope. They were using a modified Unreal Engine 3 in the last iteration. Wolfenstein uses a heavily modified IdTech 4.

I was referring to Wolfenstein 3D from 1992. It was a joke at Duke Nukem Forever's expense.

@Eli: There was an interview with George B. a while ago that mentioned it.

It was a heavily modified Unreal 2.5 Engine, but I think they are at the 3.25/5 Unreal Engine. (i.e. Gears of War 2)

Reminded me of Prey.  The gameplay I saw about a year ago that is.

Last thing I heard was heavily modified UE2, but they might have switched to 3 now.
