Duke Nukem Manhattan Project just may be one of the best PC games of all time. Its simple, but at the same time extremely fun to play. So let me now explain to you why this is a must have for any PC gamer. So lets get started first with the graphics since this is the only weak point of the game. DNMP (Duke Nukem Manhattan Project) came out in 2002 shows it acceptable for it to look a little lacking when compared to current PC games like Doom 3, Crysis, and recently released footage of Duke Nukem Forever. But even for the time that it came out it was already a little lacking. The character models look a tad blocky but for that time a lot of games had graphics like that do DNMP looked perfectly fine. But where the game really shines in the graphics department is the lighting effects. Just wow the lighting in this game is very impressive for its time of release. When playing the game you'll go to such areas as nightclubs and sewers for two examples. When your in the nightclub you have all of these different lights like blue, pink, purple and I don't know how many other colors hitting duke and his surroundings and it looks just amazing. And when in the sewers and other areas like it the lights go on and off and looks totally natural, and its not that lights go on and off thing like in Doom 3 where you can't see anything, it's the kind of on and off where you can see Duke no matter what but it still looks good. So even though the graphics werent state of the art for when they came out the game still looks good no matter what and for that I give that GRAPHICS an 4. For the time it wasnt the most impressive looking game but looks good which is why it gets an 4. Now onto the gameplay and let me tell you for something so simple it more fun then most modern games. DNMP is a sidescroller like I mentioned above and for something so simple its hard to believe that the game is actually this fun. But its not your normal side scroller where you can only go left or right, DNMP is a 2D/3D game must like Duke Nukem 3D only not in a first person perspective. Duke can go left, and right just like any other side scroller but there are certain parts of levels where Duke will be able to go inside of buildings that are in the background so he'll move more deep into the screen. So since its a sidescroller you can jump, run back and forth, slide, kick, and shoot and climb and thats it (I think) Duke will find himself gunning down Pigcops, mutant alligators, giant rats and many other enemys that seem familiar to anyone whos played a Duke Nukem game before. You'll gun your way through waves on enemys while blasting them with rockets, pipebombs, shotguns, and other crazy weapons that would only be in a Duke Nukem game. This game also has to be the most violent Duke game released so for. When you toss a pipebomb into a crowd of enemys it explodes and so do the enemys, so now you heads, legs and other body parts flying around on the area with blood splats all over the floor, walls ceiling, so they really put a lot of detail in the games 2D sytle gameplay . And anyone whos played a Duke Nukem game is familiar to Duke's items, You'll get a jetpack, which you can now kill enemys with health packs and other things like that. One more new addition to the game is are the Nukes, the Nukes are there green nuclear symbols that you can collect to let Duke carry more ammo, health, and unlock secrets. So over all DNMP is a damn fun game, that although maybe simple as playing a Mario game it brings a lot of new things to make it better then the average game, so I give the GAMEPLAY a 5, its everything that Duke Nukem is known for iin his 3D adventures but in 2D style gameplay that some could consider better then his 3D adventures. Now lets get onto the sound, theres not much to say here so I'll try to explain it as best as I can. Anyone whos played a Duke Nukem gave is familar to Duke's...Duke talk which is when he says something funny or catchy so sometingn like that. It would only be expected for DNMP project to have the best Duke talk since its his latest adventure, and you know what he does. The things that come out of this mans mouth are so funny and gives the game so much attitude and spunk, that it really seperates it from other action/shooter games. Which is a very impressive thing for a gme to have a different mood then other shooter games just by its sound but some how Duke does it. Duke will get a variety of different weapons during his adventure and each weapon has its own feel when you shoot it, so when you shoot your shotgun, or your RPG-7 it sounds like your actually shooting a shotgun or a rocket launcher. DNMP's music is also just what you would expect from a Duke Nukem game, its got dark/techno/grunge sytle music that we've all heard in this past games and feels like its just at home here in this game. The game supports stereo sound so the games already good sounding.....sound will sound even better. So over all the SOUND gets a 5, you get ever sound effect tht you would expect from a Duke Nukem game but all new. So now lets go onto the controls, and let me tell you this is going to be short becuase their are only like 5 or 6 different buttons needed to play the game at its fullest. So you have your run button, shooting button, jump, kick, slide which is a combination of the running and kicking buttons, and ducking, and oh the numeric keys at the top of your keyboard to change through like 7 or 8 different weapons. The controls are all solid so their all very responsive. I'm pretty sure that you can change around the controls to your liking but ive never tryed since the controls by default are perfect and don't need to be changed. And I'm also pretty sure you can use a gamepad/controller for the game but once again I'm not positive since i've never tryed since its not nessesary. So the CONTROLS also get a 5, their perfect in every sense of the word perfect. So now I'll over view the game, its got good graphics but they could have been better, its got great gameplay thats very simple but a lot of fun, DNMP's got great controls that are perfect and one wouldnt want them any other way , and its got great sound effects, along side with great Duke Talk and great music so over all its like this:

    Graphics:4
    Sound:5
    Gameplay:5
    Controls:5

    OVERALL: 4.5

So what can I say you couldnt ask for a more complete Duke experiece when you get this game, so if own a PC and you like shooting games go out and buy this game.

      Consistent, yet monotonous 0

This is one of those games that I totally missed, and havent thought about playing till recent. Its fun for the first hour or two, due to its relatively tight controls, smooth engine, great one liners, and some fun guns to play around with. The main problem is, that the game really doesnt add much new to the game over its short duration besides some new weapons. Everything else is the same, whether it be the enemies, the bosses, or the obscure locations, it cant help but feel sort of empty and b...
