A catch-all term for the collection of gods, monsters, and spirits that manifest in the Megami Tensei series. The English usage is derived from the Greek word "daimon," which was used to describe ethereal beings both benevolent and malevolent.
These spooky entities are the spirits of the dead, returned from beyond their graves for generally sinister purposes. There's generally about even odds whether a particular ghost will be helpful or malevolent towards the living, but some ghosts just want to be left alone entirely.
Horse riding is mostly used in games to get around from one place to another quicker than you could on foot. They can also sometimes be used in combat or racing.
