The cat is out of the bag. The new game is Transformers Devestation, a cel-shaded brawler. It is now listed on bestbuy (including screenshots and a few other details) after screenshots leaked today. This is kind of a huge bummer to me because I don't really care about Transformers and wish they'd stuck to their existing IPs or a new original one. Oh well, hopefully the gameplay is good.

Platinum to announce new Transformers game at E3
Really disappointed that this is their new game. Especially considering their previous license game, The Legend of Korra, was not good at all.

At least this game is full price. So there's that.
@altairre: Yeah I mean there is of course great potential in Platinum making a mech combat game (and even though I think Transformers is pretty terrible it will of course give them some free sales) and I am all for Platinum getting some money to make their own games but I have to admit I'm disappointed to see they are making this.
Would have much rather had something else. It's probably going to suck just like that Korra game.... Shame.
This looks pretty awesome from pictures but yeah people are right to I guess not expect it's necessarily as good as their other work. I hope it is though.
Yusuke Hashimoto (the director of Bayonetta 2) retweeted Nintendo's E3 tweet. Transformers is not coming to any Nintendo system. Which makes me think they have something else to announce. Which seems likely. They have multiple teams, and I would think the team working on Transformers is the same team that did Korra. (Which I don't see as negative, I think the faults of Korra was because budget and time constraints, it had good ideas that didn't have enough time to be fully developed I felt) Of course then there is the Bayonetta 2 "team" and of course Kamiya's own stuff, which is largely separated from that because Scalebound was being worked on at the same time as Bayonetta 2, and Kamiya wasn't involved in Bayonetta 2 much.
Of course just going of a retweet isn't secure by any means. I still have a small feeling that we might see more of Platinum. Especially considering how good the relationship between Nintendo and Platinum seems to be. And Platinum being vocal of wanting to work with them more.
Might be a stretch, but I am still hoping.
@mustainium: My bet is Korra Platinum, MGR/Bayo team is likely working on Scalebound and Bayonetta 3.
Guys, just cause one game is terrible doesn't spell the end for all games.
I'm excited for a cel-shaded Transformers game! The whole realistic looking transformers games never hit with me, really.
