The Official E3 2015 Nintendo Press Conference Discussion

It's officially E3 time, duders! If you haven't experienced the insanity of E3 before, the show starts off with press conferences from each of the three console makers as well as a few of the largest publishers in the industry. These presentations are prime real estate for game announcements, debut trailers, live gameplay demonstrations, and meme origins.

In an attempt to keep the E3 shenanigans organized, the mods institute these official discussion threads for each conference so that everybody has a go-to place to discuss them before, during, and after the show.

This thread is exclusively for the general discussion of the Nintendo press conference. Only discussion of the Nintendo press conference is allowed. Discussion involving the other company's conferences should be taken to their respective threads. And don't even think about going off-topic or derailing the thread with the latest scores from your intramural cricket league.

E3 is THE place for announcing never before seen games. It's exciting, fast-paced stuff and we're all enthusiastic to start talking about all the new toys. Hey Marino, it should be Splatoon not Splatton, in the opening bit you posted.

I really hope Nintendo has something big to be revealed.

They have a strong exclusive line-up but man I really feel they need a new announcement this E3 if they don't want to be completely overshadowed. Yoshi, Super Mario Maker and Xenoblade look like great games, and Starfox U footage will no doubt be there, But with no Zelda U showing up I feel that it doesn't just quite cut it, they really need that oomph that comes from a big new exclusive.

Have they made a Mario Universe yet? That seems like a good Mario Galaxy sequel title.

@bollard: That's too much Mario for one E3, probably. Super Mario Maker is already getting the spotlight. Wouldn't be surprised to hear about a Wii U Animal Crossing.

I'm stuck at work so I can't see this as it happens. I am expecting hella amiibos but I hope to be pleasantly surprised with some new IPs or something crazy. Come on Nintendo, you can do it! :)

Really cool show from Nintendo. Kinda really bummed out that the "new Metroid" isn't even a Metroid game, but meh, whatever there's probably an audience for that I guess.

@crimsonavenger: Have they? Yoshi, Mario Maker, Xenoblade, SMTxFE, Starfox, that Animal Crossing game and Mario Tennis off the top of my head all coming out in the next 8-9 months or so? And the new Zelda has gotta be coming sometime in 2016.

Not all those may interest you but I don't think they've abandoned the Wii U by any stretch.

Thanks for that. I'm assuming (and hoping) that Four Swords is not just local multiplayer. Hyped for SMT x FE. Wish Metroid Prime was on WiiU...I think they could do some great things on the pad with scanning the environment and so forth.

Man Nintendo's conference was not that good... with the delay of Zelda it was a fairly boring show. At the moment I am writing this, they are just doing gameplay demos like Chibi Robo and Star Fox. The thing Zelda related was the four swords sequel which could get some people excited but I am guessing we won't see or hear Zelda U for a loooooong time.

So just got home, been stuck at work all day super excited to see what Nintendo revealed, and then this...

I feel punished by Nintendo for having bought a Wii U.

Am I the only one who gets a 404 when trying to view that page? I'd love to watch the press conference with their commentary because I was at work. It seems to be the only one not up.

Starfox, Mario, Zelda, Mario, Mario, metroid for 3ds, Mario, other games, Mario. Did I forget to mention mario?

I feel that compared to last year, Nintendo did better with their skits. I'll take Puppet Nintendo World over Robot Chicken Nintendo all day. When it came to the games, 2014 was more exciting. We got to see new game reveals like Yoshi's Wooley World, Super Mario Maker, Splatoon and more while also getting some neat trailers for games already announced. This year, it felt like Nintendo was more focused on games already announced and while we got some pleasant surprises like Mario and Luigi Paper Jam and Legend of Zelda Tri Force Heroes, it was generally pretty boring.

Also, Federation Force has not sat well with Metroid fans.
