    Overview

Eiji Aonuma began his career at Nintendo shortly after graduating from the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music in 1988. His earliest role at the company was as a graphics artist, and he later moved into the director's role for the Super Famicom title Marvelous: Mouhitotsu no Takarajima. He was subsequently given the role of co-director for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, on which he worked alongside Shigeru Miyamoto. Following the completion of Ocarina of Time, Aonuma was tasked with producing a sequel on a tight deadline, and he served as the director of the subsequent game, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask. Aonuma has since served as a primary producer on Nintendo's flagship Zelda titles, taking a more active role in the direction of the franchise than its creator, Miyamoto.
