I thought I'd split these into their own topic to make them easier to keep track of:

Kite Co. Space Videos
@english: That's super sexy.
@avaren: Goddamn, that was one of the best fleet ops I've had the pleasure to be out on. Also, thanks for capturing the sexiness that is my Thorax. B)
@avaren: lol! "Oh god, I have had fraps running for a long time, I think my hard drive might be" *bzzt*
Dat timing! :)
@bobo14988: No, bobo, it's all ship based gameplay. You do create a character, but you only see them in your personal captain's quarters when docked at a station.
@gnu2000: That is a great educational video for newbies, and the music fits perfectly with the theme of the video :P
A New Stupid Kite Co Video:
This video covers some of the events at Kite Co that occured in the last week. I had a bunch of stupid ideas and put them all into one video!
@gnu2000: Perhaps your best video yet.

One glorious year of Kite Co. Space Trucking

Glorious victory!
Rollout of the new Eagle doctrine ships - we have had uppity neighbours to the north testing our defences and reinforcing one of our systems. We have just matured enough to be able to fly some of the advanced Heavy Assault Cruisers - to say we dunked their kitchen sink fleet of battlecruisers would be an understatement:
@deathtrap: Eh, if you ever need help or people to hang out with kite co is pretty good for that. If you're worried about getting back into the game drop me a line.
@jesterroyal: I'm really interested in EVE Online, but the same thing happens every time - I have fun for about two weeks and then I can't figure out what I should be doing. I was interested in PvP, but my time is limited (as is my bank account)...and my reflexes don't seem to be fast enough to handle Frigate combat. I always die in seconds, having learned nothing.
I would totally suggest cruiser combat. That's my personal favorite type of combat. It's a bit slower paced than frigates and gives you considerably more tank. Battles tend to last a bit longer and give you more room to work with.
Anyway, if you actually want to give it a go drop by and we'll set you up. EVE is driven by personal goals, so a lot of it is going to depend on you. "Figuring out what to do" is as simple as setting a goal (flying a specific ship maybe) and working towards that. No one is going to tell you how you have to play, which is the biggest strength.
@kinggiddra: I do like cruisers. My reaction speed just isn't up to the smaller ships - I'm often dead before I can do more than fire off one or two rounds. Sometimes before I've fired at all. Very frustrating.
Any particular cruisers to look at? I've got the skills (I think) to properly fit Amarr or Gallente. Probably not Minmatar or Caldari, though. Which is fine - I don't like the look of the Minmatar ships and I've been repeatedly told that missiles aren't very good for PvP (which is too bad, since I think they look awesome when fired from long range).
I suppose I'm a bit weird in that one of my long held goals with EVE was to siege a station and spend a couple hours firing missiles from super long range. I just think they look cool in flight and I like how there are physical launchers now.
Well, I personally fly the Stabber a whole lot. It's the basic Minmatar cruiser and I favor it for its versatility. You can fit it for long or short range and it's super fast. The slot layout gives you a ton of breathing room to go shield or armor while giving you space to fit an EWar module or two.
Missiles are perfectly fine for PVP. They have their shortcomings, but so does every weapon system. Caldari is specifically focused on missiles, but Minmatar and Amarr ships sometimes feature them. The basic Caldari cruiser, the Caracal, completely eats frigates with rapid light missile launchers.
Additionally every race has cruisers dedicated to EWar, so you can act as a force multiplier and help swing the battle. The Arbitrator deals pretty good damage with drones and weapons, but has bonuses for tracking disruption. While the rest of your fleet is brawling you can safely sit at range and disrupt enemy turret platforms. CCP completely overhauled cruisers awhile ago, so there's most definitely a niche for everyone to fill.
A few brave Kite Co. souls took some fast frigates to the big Revenant kill event yesterday:
This was an arranged event which is notable as only one of this type of ship has been destroyed before. This EN24 article has the full skinny.
Personally, despite the fact that the time dilation was utterly ridiculous (causing a delay between pressing a button and anything happening of around 5mins, plus 1fps) I still had a good deal of fun piloting an interceptor through dense clumps of ships with a pair of small smart bombs popping off.
