Back in 2014 (2013?) I played Eve Online for about a month, totaling about 55 hours of play time. The main reason I started playing EVE was because a friend and I had been bouncing the idea around and we decided to pull the trigger. Ultimately, I was the only one of us that put any amount of time into the game.

Aside from the idea of having a friend with me to bumble around space, the soundtrack was what really drew me to the game. I still listen to it on Soundhound or Youtube on a regular basis. I am actually very excited to see what the free to play stuff is all about if for no other reason that to fly around space and listen to the amazing soundtrack.

Anyone else have memories that trigger when they here the soundtrack? Favorite songs?

I tried EVE about three months ago and bounced right the hell off. I have to admit that included the music, of which I remember exactly zero. A cool concept, but a game badly in need of a little more signposting. I mean, I know that its the interactions between players that is the core mythology of that game, but I remember being horribly confused as to what there was to do other than mining when you first start out.

Turns out there's kind of a ton, but the game never directs or guides you to it and when you do blunder into a new activity, you get only the basest tutorial in how the thing actually works.

I'm all for deep and complex games that need wikis and spreadsheets and a basic understanding of angular momentum to figure out, but that level of complexity can't include accessing basic gameplay systems.
