It's finally here, SoCal Regionals, for real this time!
SoCal Regionals 2015 Preview
We live in a post-EVO 2015 world! And yet the road to December's Capcom Cup continues. SCR 2015 was originally slated for May (before EVO 2015) but due to venue issues it's been bumped to October. Its premier event status for the Capcom Pro Tour is still active so its USFIV tournament still has a spot in the Capcom Cup for its winner, as well as Capcom Cup seeding points and $15,000 bonus for the top 8.
SoCal Regionals is run by one of the original world class fighting game players Alex Valle and his production company/group, Level|Up Series. They are also known for Wednesday Night Fights, the primary West Coast fighting game weekly, which just yesterday announced its new venue at the brand new eSports Arena in Santa Ana, California.
Wednesday Nights is scheduled to return on October 21st. So it's a very busy month for Valle and Level|Up!

Kotaku interviews Daigo Umehara, Justin Wong and Seth Killian about EVO moment 37
"I wanted to show Justin that this wasn't going to be an ordinary fight."
A well put together video by Kotaku (minus them mistaking Daigo for Raoh). I especially like the description of their mindsets during the match.

The King of Fighters XIV was unveiled and everyone hates its graphics
An extremely early version of KOFXIV was shown at TGS and it hasn't gone down well! I will reserve judgement of their decision to drop their graphical style for polygons until a version much closer to release is shown. Also I hope the online is good, or just better than XIII. May give this a try myself when it releases.
Thanks for reading and enjoy watching!
I'm glad to finally get this blog up, it's been delayed several times, but now that it's up I'm going to be watching as much fighting game events as I can. Hope you will too!
