Excellent historical RPG
Expeditions: Viking is a highly underrated game that all RPG and turn-based strategy fans should own. You play as a young viking thegn who must find a way to defend his village from rival vikings by eventually sailing to England and either forming alliances or conquering all to acquire riches. The game features a fairly deep character creation system and tactical turn-based combat. There is also a considerable amount of interaction with companions (including some optional romances), well written dialogue, and a good deal of choices with consequences.
My main complaint is that I found the fights eventually become a bit too easy even on the highest difficulty setting. However, an update added an iron-man mode and some difficulty / balance tweaks that may have since rectified this for those who enjoy a challenge. Only other gripe I had is the game features an absurd number of barrels, chests, and crates which potential contain useful trinkets. To search through them all is incredibly tedious. Of course you can safely ignore most of them and still complete the game, but it is certainly annoying design decision as players may feel compelled to search them when short on crafting materials. But these issues did little to detract from my enjoyment of an otherwise excellent CRPG.
While there were a few significant bugs during launch, they have since been fixed through patches. If you have not picked up this RPG, then I highly recommend checking it out.
