I'm sure you've all come across that game that gives the most unfair, tedious XP points boost ever. What I mean by this is sometimes you'll do something so good and hard but yet you don't get many XP points for the task. I can think to GRID's XP system. Sometimes you'll finish 1st in a race with a considerable amount of people and maybe only get 1 or 2 points (something you would get for being not first). Of course, it all depends on the ranking of the players but I really do think it is tedious to build up.

Experience Points
Concept »
Experience Points are part of a character advancement system commonly found in RPGs. These points are generally gained by defeating an enemy or completing a task.
Most annoying XP points ever?
"I thought COD4 had a pretty annoying thing were in the middle of a match if you get disconnected then you lose all the XP you got in that server up till then.Yeah, well at least when there is a problem not on your end, it usually saves your XP you earned (no bonus).
And my internet connection is sucky so it happens a lot
"
"Halo 3, it in no ways reflects player skill only team skill. Expect in lone Wolfs "I would say its working as intended for Halo 3. Your Skill Rating is shown for each play list, and your EXP rating shows how much you have played the game. I could join a Team Slayer match and have a Skill Ranking in slayers of 3, but have a much higher EXP ranking. Players will know two things after seeing that: Either I never play Slayers, or I manged to smerff my skill level down so I can trash on noobs.
SC IV because Button Mashing noobs take them away from you and you have to fill up the bar then win again or get 2 wins in a row to rank up
