So with Fallout 3 coming out next month, what are your opinions?
For me, well I'll be honest, I have never played any of the previous Fallout games. Despite that, it looks like an impressive game. Just the scale of the gameplay and setting of the story it looks outstanding. At first I thought it was going to be a boring, barren, ruined city, but it is a barren, ruined city. Except the fact that it is not boring at all it, looks great. I always like the fact that you can play the game like an FPS or use VATS. This is a game I'm considering reserving a copy for but for me its a debate between it and Fable 2. Not trying to make comparisons or saying which is better, but I'm kinda leaning towards this Fallout 3.

Fallout 3 Impressions?
I'm stoked for it, and it sparked my interest in the previous games, which are soooooooo hard to find these days. I WANNA PLAY FALLOUT 1-2
Oh man, I just reserved Fallout 3 today so I'm amped about this game. I got the Soundtrack and it is weird. Has one of those old-timey songs on there but hey what can I say? Its Fallout 3 lol
"The only thing I'm raging about over Fallout 3 is that they rehired the Imperial Guard to do voices."I don't see the problem. they've established a good business relationship with the actors and could easily bring them in to do voiceovers, Bioware's been doing the same thing for the last few game (KotOR, Jade empire, Mass Effect)
they got a ton of new voices though, which they desperately needed, so I don't think complaining is necessary
From what I am seeing I am almost sure that it'll be game of the year and recieved as well as and probably even better than Oblivion. Mayby I'm just over hyping it, so the internet can say what they want, but I'll still buy it, enjoy it, and recomend it to people who haven't played it.
I watched all of the demos on the 360 and... I am regretting not having pre-ordered this when I had money.
"Demilich said:As long as there's more than 3 VA's there shouldn't be a problem."The only thing I'm raging about over Fallout 3 is that they rehired the Imperial Guard to do voices."As long as the mutants don't say "Stop Right There Criminal Scum" when I attack them, this shouldn't be a problem..."
I expect to play Fallout 1-2 several more times in my lifetime, but I'll pass on 3 unless it falls in my lap. I generally don't like shooters much, and what I've seen of this game hasn't changed my mind. It's funny how the old 2D animations can have so much more life than the fancy 3D work.
"Lukeado said:If a third of the men in the game sound like an Imperial Guard I'll flip a shit"Demilich said:As long as there's more than 3 VA's there shouldn't be a problem.""The only thing I'm raging about over Fallout 3 is that they rehired the Imperial Guard to do voices."As long as the mutants don't say "Stop Right There Criminal Scum" when I attack them, this shouldn't be a problem..."
"looks dumb. i have no clue what you guys see in it."What specifically looks dumb? Just curious, it seems open world amazing to me with stellar graphics and gameplay. Maybe I am a product of the 70's and 80's but this has strong cold war era appeal to me. Like Oblivion on steroids
I thought the game looked terrible at E3 and everything before. Then the demo videos came out on the marketplace, I watched all 5 and was impressed by the graphics, combat, and objectives. I never really liked Elder Scrolls as much as others for whatever reason, but I'll definitely try Fallout 3 in some form or another. To be honest, I don't want to delve into an RPG this Holiday for obvious reasons so I might save it for after December.
