Third. My tolerance for first-person roleplaying is very, very limited.

Third person. It was easier to control everything in Oblivion and basically first person RPGs blow.

Probably first person, only going out to third to see new armors and equipment. At least that is what I did with oblivion. However, if they're serious about making this a quality third-person experience, i may switch it up. With Oblivion, 3rd person felt very tacked on.

Third person. I would have said otherwise if I hadn't played Resident Evil 4.

Not going to say either. Both will suit depending on the game

For combat I will most definitely be in first person, but for travel I will use 3rd person.

I'll probably do both depending on the situation. That's what I did in Oblivion anyway. Hopefully the 3rd person perspective will be a little better in Fallout 3 though.

You know, that's a good question. I like third-person games much more than first-person games, generally, but I played through all of Oblivion in first.

    Probably first.

Even though it's not a new thing in gaming; don't you think that the ability to switch from first to third person, seamlessley, is amazing?

Bethesda seems to build their games around first person so that's the one i'll probably spend most of my time in.

I love first person, but my wife loves the look of this game, but can't watch  FPS's.      I probably switch back and forth like most people.

I'll probably be in mostly 3rd person. I have a feeling it will feel more like Fallout that way.

    This thread deserves a survey.

3rd person for me. I dont know why, it makes more sense for me if i can see the character.

Probably play it the same way I did Oblivion and first person mostly unless I need to see the whole picture and what's around me in third person.

    Different for different games.

Halo series, counter strike, CoD4 - can only be first person, 3rd would work well (I wouldnt think)

Max Payne, Dead Rising, GRAW - wouldnt be right if they were first person

But since I mainly play first person shooters... if this is a thread about what you prefer. I guess TECHNICALLY... I prefer first person games.

Third person. First person makes me get motion sick. But I pray they really made it playable in third person because Oblivion was darn near unplayable in third person.

I have yet to see third person real time combat for the game yet in action, other than the third person zoom out it does when you go into V.A.T.S,so I have no idea. I'd probably switch in and out though.

For me its probably gonna be in 42nd person, to get the best possible view of hazards ahead, behind, on either sides, and above me. BUT, if that doesn't work out I'll probably stick to first person mostly just easier for me to react and stuff, since I play COD4 so much.

Good question. I'll probably try out both, because I really don't have set a preference. I will probably end up going first though, because I like to see the game from the characters eyes

It depends really on how the 2st and 3rd person works out. From the demo at e3 im leaning towards 1st person only becuase the third person looks a little gears of warish when you sprint. but this makes me think of STar wars battlefront 2 where you could choose between first and third. where I picked third. We'll see how it turns out.

Third person and first person can both work well. It's the game that matters.

If I get Fallout 3, I think I'd like 3rd person. RPG games are just better that way.
