From what iv read and seen (gameplay vids) it looks like a 5 in my books

It seems to be a recurring theme with games nowadays to have ass endings. Dunno why, but I haven't been satisfied with an ending to a game in a while. Also, Keano, is this sarcasm? 4 is a great score.

Looks pretty good, though like others have said, the stuff about the ending has put me off. I think Oblivion had the worst ending to a game i've ever played and this one sounds not much better.

yeah I know... i do my best not to. Anyway I still can't wait to pick it up tomorrow...meanwhile I have some FarCry 2 to try to advance in a bit(since with fallout coming out, I won't be playing it for a bit)

Well we have a 4 star controversy on our hands... but why?  4 stars means it's great... have fun.

I'm still getting it. It's sad when people hype a game, have an extreme interest in buying it, and then reverse their opinions and decide not to buy the game because it "flops" (which in this age is the difference between AA game rather than a AAA). Reviews shouldn't kill  established game-buying decisions.

Just ignore the troll as dual stated, 4/5 instead of 5/5 is not a flop, its simple...if you had interest in the game from the start, you're still gonna pick it up I'm assuming, thats all that matters. Same way plenty don't agree GTAIV deserved 5 stars and 10s everywhere, its called different peoples 'opinions'.

I agree with most people here. It reads more like "Oh gawd I think it's kind of a mediocre game, but then again, the other people will like it so I give it a 4 (also I might have been anticipating too much from this one)".
Also, GTAIV is definitly no 5. It's a four.

Condemned 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company are the only games that I'm surprised to have a higher score then Fallout 3 (not including download or handheld games), which is why I feel slightly disappointed, especially with the review being fairly negative. Guess I'll have to, dare I say it, take a second opinion and wait for other reviews.

I actually liked the review. Look at all the other reviews out there. They're mostly the reviewer gushing about the game, with little emphasis on the downpoints. Now, take Jeff's review as a counterpoint. If you put them together, you should be able to weigh the good against the bad and see if it's the game for you.

Wow.  Since when was 4/5 super-awful-holy-shit-flop?  I'm surprised it's even that good to be completely honest with you.  I'm going to go get a copy probably today or tomorrow.

I really can't see the "Negativity" in his review, he was totally honest about what he experienced in the game, giving it a 4 is not the apocalypse, it's "Still very good and easy to recommend, though it doesn't quite live up to its full potential".

This game has a gun that shoots BASEBALLS. 5/5 Seriously.

I thought the review was too negative and didn't mention enough positives, and that is why the 4/5 surprised me, only because it felt like the written text did not match the 'score'. Although all this is hilarious as the guys at GB from the beginning have stated that people place too much emphasis on scores and that their review system is pretty much just a guide as to how they feel about the game. They feel that Fallout 3 is great, but not a must buy. Wheras GTAIV, Dead Space and Battlefield: BC, they feel are great for all and you should get them. Does that mean you have to buy them? No, I haven't gotten Dead Space and don't intend to. I do intend on getting Fallout 3, and the 4/5 doesn't deter me, but it is good in bringing down my hype slightly so I'm not massively disappointed.

Stop being so obsessed with scores peoples.
