To appreciate Fawkes correctly you must spell it right, but it's the thought that counts. Fawkes does kick ass.

I've only had Charon and Fawkes so far as followers.  They both seem to soak up damage and dish it out very well.  I mainly use them as pack mules for my extra guns and make them wait in one spot so they don't steal my kills.

Yeah i was bummed out that the friggin main quest is so damn short, I spent maybe 15 minutes in raven rock then boom the final mission?  So I decided to not finish the main quest (ending sucks ass anyway) and just tool around w/ Fawkes.

I wish he was avail earlier, as others mentioned being a pack mule is awesome, but even better is he steals XP if you don't fire on random chumps.   So you can explore and control your leveling instead of constantly leveling up just trying to look around.

Hopefully w/ the DLC level cap increase you can actually use him more

Fawkes is the only real loyal man/mutant that you can find in the entire Wasteland , I would not mind if he was my brother !!!

Yes, Fawkes does kick major ass. I just discovered the guy today and was absolutely surprised that I haven't heard more around the net about this awesome character. I'm also sort of disappointed that they didn't make him more of a part of the Fallout 3 story, but it's no big deal. The dude still rules! Fawkes FTW!

best part is if he gets stuck, just zone and boom he teleports right where you need him
