    Sorry bout the queston but can you play through the entire game using VATS or do you have to recharge it or pick up somethng to make it work. Im sorry of it's been asked already but I can't find it. Thanks for the help

    You have action points or AP that recharge when not in VATS that are used up when in VATS.

    At first it seemed like you could play this either like a 3. person shooter or a turn-based game, but after E3 it seemed like the VATS was just an extra power to help you when you where in serious trouble

    Well yes however there is a perk that you can get that every time you get a kill in vats or real time it refills you AP so you can most likely  play the whole game with vats
