I am posting this to replace the locked thread and hopefully drum up some actually discussion in some strange behavior that has been springing up the past couple of years.
This is obviously about the Rooster Teeth Channel "The Know" and this subgroup they have that run a show called "The Patch" I am not going to link the video here it is easy enough to find but after seeing the segment in question I have unsubscribed from their channel due to the hilariously misguided nature of this situation. On this particular episode they start laying into reviewers who "score a game low" basically saying that Reviewers are doing it for attention, while this may be the case sometimes (I have certainly seen people score games low for no reason to generate controversy) this is hardly the case here since Jeff even took the time to give the game two completely separate scores. The console versions are clearly rough around the edges, bad framerate, slow loading times, and graphics that leave something to be desired along with the standard legion of Bethesda bugs while the PC version still shares many technical woes it is able to overcome that by making the game not look like something quite from 2006 and keeps the problems to the normal range of bugs that plague the engine that powers Bethesda games.
They immediate point to Jeff's review as being a one of these reviews, saying it was given a 70, strike one Giant Bomb doesn't even score games on that scale, while it is true that sites like Metacritic convert the score to a number I think the community at large agrees that isn't their fault or their intention. The reason I wanted to give this thread another shot was due to something very similar happening with Giant Bombs last E3 videos, a lot of the comments on youtube (I know not the greatest metric) were furious at Giant Bomb for being negative because they didn't jump out of their chairs for Shemue or any of the other nostalgia grabs and it really has raised some red flags for me. Another video from a group that I cannot remember were going completely bonkers at the E3 announcements while the one female in their team sat by and tried to stay professional, she was completely torn apart in the comments because she wasn't rolling on the floor having a heart attack, it was concerning to say the least and anyone with anything negative to say was torn down and told to go be "un-fun" somewhere else. The team on The Patch are clearly 100% behind this idea of anything negative as being "un-fun" or acting like its someone trying to make a statement with their thoughts even though in this instance it makes zero sense because Jeff gave the game a good review.
Has anyone else noticed this or is concerned by it? This is literally why I watch/listen to this website I want serious discussion not a bunch of children pretending like their opinions are important only to turn around a go "Oh we aren't journalist we can say whatever we want" but then they get the access and act like press when it suits them.
