Seriously, these things are everywhere on the map and they are annoying as hell and so damn flighty just like the Cliff Racers form Morrowind. I remember in that game you try to go anywhere and you look behind you and there are like 4 Cliff Racers glitching out behind you trying to keep up, but you are constantly leaving their attack radius.
The Cazador aren't AS prevalent as the Cliff Racers but they're definitely up there. They're a hell of a lot harder to kill than Cliff Racers though...
I don't know why, but I'm getting a huge Morrowind feel to this game, more so than Fallout 3 and Oblivion. Anyone else feel me there? I'm thinking it's because of the unstable nature of the game :P
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
Cazador is to New Vegas is what the Cliff Racer is to Morrowind.
They're those giant moth like creatures-of-death, right? I ignored the warning signs north of good springs, and an army of Mothra's TKO'd me.
Not a fan of the cazadors, but I think they offer up a hell of a nice challenge when I'm not on hardcore mode. When I am, well... those sons of bitches are rough. I've been using laser rifles and pistols to wipe them out fairly quickly. For mid-to-late game hardcore stuff, my best perk sets have included anything that boosts or recharges AP fast, mostly due to these little bastards.
God yes, the Cazadors are the bane of my Fallout existence. I've gotten wrecked by those things so many times thus far, and am only now getting to the point where I can take them out reliably -- but usually not without still taking some damage. It's their venom that pisses me off the most, the outright damage they do to me isn't that big of a deal.
Whenever they step to me I unload on them with the Heavy Incinerator or a Grenade launcher, that works pretty well for me now that I'm at a point now where I can take a few stings. When I get into the mid 20's in level I'm going to find the SPOILER WARNING: Click here to reveal hidden content. and get my fucking revenge for all the deaths they dealt to me in the game.
Their wings are very fragile and will make them much much slower if you cripple them.
So shoot them in the wings untill you get gear to just take them head on.
One you get some decent weapons they get easy to kill anyway.

Really? I played through the game once on hardcore and never once encountered them. Only now, on my second playthrough, have I had the misfortune of engaging them (in the canyon spot north of Goodsprings). They are awful things though, especially on Hard difficulty.

I hate running into Cazadors. ven't had to fight any Deathclaws yet but I think I would still hate the Cazadors more.

" Right now I have ED-E and Boone with me so Boone manages to take them out a lot of the time."Boon and ED-E really do make it more bearable to fight them.
These things were a major pain to deal with at lower levels. Always there would end up being a whole group of them right in the way of my objective. What happened when I decided to go around and try to avoid them? Run into more. It was nice once I had the weapons to take them out from afar.
Whenever I played Fallout 3 I made a good karma character who used any weapon i got and then i made a bad karma character who only used melee and unarmed weapons. It was alot of fun to have these differant ways of playing the game, but now its not fun at all because of those fucking cazadors are so strong against melee(especially at the level im at) that i cant wander the wasteland at all without being murdered by those things. Its so frustrating.
It's hilarious to see that if you take twenty steps out of Goodsprings (the "newbie" area, if you will) in any nearly direction except for the one way out, you're gonna get ass-raped by Cazadors/Deathclaws/Radscorpions. I never knew about it when I left for the first time (I went the "correct" way to New Vegas, through Primm), but when I came back through the canyon I realized that Goodsprings is a fucking death-trap.
The NPCs do a good job of warning you, but man. That sleepy little town isn't going to be around much longer.
What scares me the most about cazadors is that they're real.

They wouldn't be so bad on their own, but they always come in groups. If there are any Radscorpions in the area, you can try crossing their path. Cazadors seem to hate radscorps and tend to forget about you and go after them. Of course that distraction doesn't last terribly long.
The Bullet Ant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VarqiOM4-Fg
On the bright side, they aren't found in North America or The Mojave Wasteland.
what makes this especially dumb is that they are a big fly.
Sure deathclaws should be tough to kill, they are fucking huge muscle machines with massive claws.
A fly should not be able to take a hit from a plasma gun or shotgun and survive. Even giant ants are easy to kill by comparison and they have an exoskeleton. Hell, I could kill ants with one punch and knuckle dusters at level 12. Walked into a silver mine yesterday at level 30 with an RCW and idiotic cazadors wiped me out twice. They even survived a fucking mini-nuke. Stupid.
Hate these bloody bugs too, seems that most things in Fallout3 need AP rounds to do much to them. Another thing that seems to work with them is using something like the incinerator & running around while they burn or try to frenzy them with crits to the antenna & runing off. They seriously aren't worth the xp to me due to using lots of stims to repair limbs as well as armor.
" What scares me the most about cazadors is that they're real.Judas Priest!!! Anyway, yeah...Cazadors...ugh. I started the game on hardcore today. Haven't run into a cazador yet. We'll see how things go. It can only go worse, right?? lol.
