    It's really hard to not laugh out loud when you go into third person and watch your character swing a melee weapon.

    I think the fact there's a third person mode is the bigger problem than how the animations look.

    But that's what makes the current generation of Bethesda RPGs so great! Although I personally have a love for this style of jank.

    i thought the so-called third person is only your player character performing the npcs' awkward animations regardless.

    Pretty much. After trying it for maybe about 30 seconds in Fallout 3, it's just unplayable.

    Character animations in Bethesda RPGs are pretty janky. Part of it is probably the game engine.

    Fallout 3 wasn't exactly known for good animations either. So I've learned to overlook things like these after the couple of hundred hours I put into that game. Although, the poor quality of the introduction video kind of surprised me.

    I always liked the 3rd person modes in Bethesda RPGs, even if only in an ironic way.
