About 8 hrs and I felt like I rushed it.
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
How long did it take you to reach the Strip? (keep spoilers out)
Just a word of advice, become a member of the kings, it's the only way to get a hairdresser in the game." 48 hours played right now. Haven't touched the strip, even though I have way more than 2,000 caps, can get a counterfeit passport or can get a real passport from The King. "
" @TheSeductiveMoose: I just type "showracemenu" in the console if I decide I need to change my face or hair. I inadvertently started with a little bit of chin hair, went to a mustache and goatee, then to a beard and then finally to the shaggy beard. All by accident, really. "Yeah I do that sometimes too. Be warned though that if you use it too much without changing cells your game might break, I learned that the hard way. ;(
" @TheSeductiveMoose: Changing cells? I've only used it maybe...three times now to change my face. "Changing areas, sorry been playing around in the GECK too much.
I'm not sure how many hours it took, but I was somewhere between level 20-25. Yeah, I did a lot of side quests before ever stepping foot in the Strip.
Myself entered the strip at level 29. Guess played time was about 35 hours at the time.
I took very early in the game the explorer perk so I was able to see most of the locations on the map right away. So far I have explored over 125+ locations. I am pretty
amazed about the amount of guests that the developers have been able to include into the game.
I am also glad of the fact that enemies in the game are a challenge even at level 30. In earlier fallout games the minigun in particular was a weapon of mass destruction.
Been playing the game in normal hardcore mode. Respects to the people who are playing the game on hard. I dont even want to imagine how tough the Deathclaws are in that difficulty level. Though I have managed to amass quite a few c-4 explosives. Problem is finding detonators for those though.
First play through was probably at least 20 hours, did ever quest i found before i went into the strip.
" these plus 30hour answers are blowing my freakin mind. You guys just wander the Mojave for ages? "That's the best way to play the Bethesda Fallout games, I think. I put off the main questline as long as possible and just explore. Some roving traveler across a dust-washed wasteland. It's awesome.
I was at about 30 hours, maybe under, when I finally got to the Crimson Caravan Company the other day. I swear I spent like 2 hours just going through all the various places around Camp Mcwhatsitcalled, and another good hour or so just making a big circle around New Vegas and discovering all the gates and places just outside the strip. I also started (and have remained) Hardcore mode.
I'm definitely the type to put off the main questline as long as possible and do all side quests first as I come across them. This could be why I have trouble finishing games. Although I think some of that 30 hours was walking away from the game for a bit (like to do laundry or something) and forgetting to pause it.
About 24 hours for me. I like to take it slow, explore. The great thing about Fallout games is that this approach is very rewarding.
