There's been so much moaning about this game on forums everywhere that I have to add my tuppenceworth. -
- I have never been so addicted to a game ever...I got this last Fri and have played over 50hours already, this is whilst doing a full time job.
I loved F3 but this is something else........
That Is All.
Fallout: New Vegas

The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
I can't stop........
Yeah, I think the dialogue is pretty good in this one. The game has crashed on me a few times and I've seen some minor graphical bugs here and there, but overall it's an awesome game.
Yes, it's a very good game. I've been fortunate to only crash once in 15 hours of gameplay so far, and only a few graphical glitches, so none of that buginess has hampered my experience with the game. I only mildly enjoyed Fallout 3, but I think I am starting to love this game. Also, hardcore mode is the way to go!
Looking at the map I must have only covered 20%i think. I haven't even got to Vegas yet and its takien 50hours - its just pure joy. I guess i'm lucky with the lack of problems - I think installing to the HD is the way to go.
It is also really impressive the way there is an interesting story in every location - anyone been to Vault 11 yet - hilarious.
I think this may be a case where people are so expectant of a high quality game or get used to the high quality components of the game when playing it, the issues with it stand out all the more, at least that's my theory on what's caused the forum uproars over New Vegas. While I think the bugginess of the game is a legitimate criticism and raises some important questions about quality control, overall New Vegas sounds like a great game.
Not sure I would call Vault 11 hilarious, more like tragic. That Vault is probably my favourite, just the way it's setup letting you think they're talking about something else and only at the end do you realise what really went on. Just some very good writing all round. I'm also on 60hours and I havn't even met Benny at his casino yet, just so much else to do." Looking at the map I must have only covered 20%i think. Also the abrupt end to the video message. "Can you picture the afterlife? Good." Doors open. Guns blaze.
I think the moaning about this game is more due to the problems than the game itself.
I have just platinumed this and spent well over 60 hours doing so. I'm not done playing but the constant bugs really wear on me. I am currently typing this while waiting for the game to boot back up after yet another freeze. I stopped counting at 30. Jeff's review seemed right on when he mentioned it gets worse the longer you play. Bugs aside, my only real complaint with this game is the huge amount of quests that require you to go to objective, go back to quest giver, repeat 10 times. This combined with the amount of loading points needlessly slows down the game. But you're correct OP this game is still awesome.
Vault 11 was awesome. I was genuinely excited when I sat down on that chair, I had no idea what would happen next.
I love this game, it's everything Fallout 3 was and more!
I did make it through my first 15 hour hardcore playthrough without any crashes, which was nice. I hope they'll keep patching it because I don't enjoy the random crashes and bugs I now experience from time to time =(
Which brings me to one of the things I wish they had included which was that you kept a full log of all the computer terminal logs/emails etc you had read - like I say sometimes its hard to get the full picture especially if you are hurrying an area because you are going out or whatever(although i've not been doing much going out over the last week) and it would be good to be able to read the whole story through afterwards.
Incidentally - how do you do that spoiler thing?
There's a great summary here of Vault 11. http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_11

I agree with you however I think this all this moaning had taken attention away from how genuinely good the game is. I also don't know how bad these issue have been across the board. People who are unhappy make a lot more noise than the contented majority questing away, but I don't deny there have been a lot of issues. It would be good to get an idea of proportions.
You say the game has crashed 30 times in 60 hours. Can I ask what system you are playing on and is it installed etc - I've had one stuck load in my whole time installed on 360. Other normal Gamebryo weirdness but that's it.
Hmm......don't think that worked.
this game is GREAT! i'm almost 80 hours in.
I wouldn't touch this on a console tho. I was at a friend who is playing it on a 360.. ugh.. that loading times alone would be a deal breaker for me.
the only real issues i have are ATI ones.. grey screens of death some times. But whatever..
oh, ED-E ... hrmm.. went away and never came back (yes, i did all the stuff that should make him come back.. but he didn't). But i can live with it. I still have his perk which is uber :)
He always died too.. little wimp :P (i'm playing on hardcore)
If you have one of their newer cards this might help you:" the only real issues i have are ATI ones.. grey screens of death some times. But whatever.. "

Provided that you don't already know about it.
I'm no expert on things like this but aparently it has a bad memory leak (whatever that is) and you need to install and clear your cache regulally. I've done this and my longest load must be 10secs tops.
ahhhh! these addictive comments I see here remind me of my grand addiction as well when I was playing Fallout 2 back in 1998. Sadly New Vegas has not yet released for the PC in my country yet for some reason since thats the version I plan to get and not for my PS3. Good to see that the guys in Obsidian still retained their writing skills, and maintained the spirit that made the Fallout franchise such a great game. Can't wait to get my hands on this. :D
