Once your vilified is there any way to better your rep? I'm vilified by Caesar's Legion and I'd rather not have to complete "The House Always Wins" mission going in guns blazing. If i kill Caesar (which isn't what your supposed to do so it's not a spoiler) i will miss out on 3 achievement quests, any advice would be greatly appreciated
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
Vilified Reputation
The only way I can think of is if you disguise yourself as one of Caesar's Legion. However, if you do and you gain rep, then you will only gain rep based on the fact you are wearing that outfit. What I mean is that your disguised self will gain the rep, but not your main self. So you will have to go in disguised every time.
But i figured if you kill Caesar you can't get anymore quests from him. Am i going to have to restart the game and be careful with each faction or do you think they will patch this reputation issue?
Im in the exact same condition. I have to get the chip from the fort AND Im vilified by the ceasers. Every time i go in guns blazing i get killed, soooo now im stuck. I dont know what to do. damn
Anyone have any advice? i even tried stealthing in, but you cant steal from ceaser and every time i open fire i die
Why would they patch it? It's not a bug. The reputation system is important to how you play the game, and unfortunately you got on the wrong side of them. So either go in guns blazing, or start over and play nice with them.
I understand its not a bug but they give no precursor to not being able to revert back to good faith with a faction. To completely fuck up your game 11 hours in and missing out on 4 Caesar's Legion quests is in my opinion bullshit
So basically there's no way to get into Caesar's tent unnoticed, and there's no way to better reputation once your vilified
sneaky sniper.
that's the solution to almost every combat situation in the game, I've found.
get a silencer for the sniper rifle, or a modded cowboy repeater works great because you don't have to reload as much, and let them run at you while you pick them off.
once you get into the tent, if you have the wild wasteland, it would be a great time for the holy hand grenades or just mini nuke them if you're having that much trouble.
" I tried putting on the Caesar's armor, (doing the same mission and same rep), and they let me walk around for a bit and all of sudden turned on me. I plan on just coming back more prepared and taking them all on, sense I almost was able to with little gear that I had. "...wait till you try to fight the dudes in Caesar's tent.
I currently just reloaded an earlier game when I'm neutral with NCR and i still get shot on site by them, that is what i don't understand
I really didn't have that much trouble killing them all, even without boone or any other companion.
I snuck into the base, with legion armor donned. Avoid dogs, characters named "guard" or characters with actual names.
From here I used a silenced sniper to clear out the grounds when I was hidden (quicksaving when necessary). Then I used a stealthboy to get into caesar's tent and sniped his head right off. Had a long battle against his minions after that which mostly involved a lot of backing up while I shot them in the head.
Bring Stimpaks.
I don't think there is a way to get out of the villified situation in the case of the Legion.
Well i started over, honestly my advice for everyone is DO NOT under any circumstances kill any of the main factions (NCR, Caesar's Legion) prior to Vegas it can ruin the rest of the game after, even after being redeemed with both factions making it to vegas it still glitched out and i was constantly attacked by NCR while being "neutral"
Not to beat the proverbial dead horse, but I would recommend sneaking into Caesar's tent (using a Stealth Boy) and having a chat with him. Barring that, just ignore the achievement business and play the game. There will be plenty of time to get your achievements in subsequent playthroughs.
A patch hit today with over "200" quest and scripting issues, so we shall see if they fixed the reputation errors or not, and i appreciate the advice but i just feel almost cheated in a way because i was completely unaware of such severe consequences prior to Caesar's Tent" Not to beat the proverbial dead horse, but I would recommend sneaking into Caesar's tent (using a Stealth Boy) and having a chat with him. Barring that, just ignore the achievement business and play the game. There will be plenty of time to get your achievements in subsequent playthroughs. "
*EDIT* Just booted it up this morning and had no indication of a "update now" screen, wonder why
