The west are arm with most Gauss and Laser rifle's, they are mostly equip with the superior TB-51 Power armor, and they are more trained. While the East might be already be using Enclave tech, and probably have the ability to produce power armor, robots and Plasma weapon's, control Deathclaws, they also have Vertibird's and they should be using superior Enclave power armor . Im not sure if the can call orbital strikes since the mobile base crawler was destroyed but i think there are other places. But the west possibly are able to produce energy weapon's im not sure with the power armor but didn't they have a lack of power armor in some fallout game? and most of them only had Recon Armor and Combat Armor.

Anyways who would win in a war?
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
West Brotherhood of Steel vs East.
The believe the east. They have a larger presence, access to more tech, willing to adapt. They also have no major opposition left now that the Enclave has been dealt with, while the west still has issues with the NCR. Not to mention the East also could also possibly rebuild Liberty Prime if needed.
Well does anyone know what the timeline is between Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas? If your comparing their presence in each game its pretty drastically different. In Fallout 3 they are a giant army enough to challenge the Enclave. In Fallout: New Vegas they are just a remnant of a force that was completely overrun by the NCR. I was kind of disappointed in their presence in New Vegas since they seem a more interesting faction compared to the others. Who wins? The east hands down.
There is around four years separating Fallout 3 from New Vegas. Both the D.C. branch of the Brotherhood and the small force remaining in the Mojave are simply parts of a larger organization. Under Elder Lyons the long range detachment sent to D.C. has become much more liberal in their methodology and has tried to become a protective force for the people of the Wasteland. Not just reclusive tech scavengers like the Brotherhook Outcasts you could also meet. They were more in line with the main Brotherhood of Steel organization. Their strict adherence to the mentality that them and them alone should have access to advanced weapons technology from before the war led to the Mojave branch running afoul of the NCR forces in the region and being largely wiped out. As "civilization" is returning the Brotherhood is increasingly finding itself becoming irrelevant and they're having a hard time adapting. Just like knightly orders pretty much died out or were exterminated as the Middle Ages gave way to the Renaissance.
As for who would win in a fight between the D.C. and Mojave branches I'd have to go with D.C. Their willingness to pull recruits from outside the Brotherhood and adopt new weapons would give them a distinct advantage.
They barely knew how Liberty Prime worked and he got hit by an orbital strike. I don't really think he's coming back.
The Brotherhood in New Vegas aren't the "west" BoS, they are just a small unit sent mainly to take control of Helios.
@ryanwho: Actually the armor does but the bullets work more like the Force and aren't like bullets.
