" Depends on how many bullets it will take to kill something, dying easily I can deal with and enjoy the challenge, always loved RPGs that require food+ water managment... but if you're dying because an enemy takes 20 shots to the head, that's not fun and I might wait for a second playthrough. "I cant imagine the damge model being like Call of Duty Hard core or anything, it'll take a few shots still im sure.
Fallout: New Vegas
Game » consists of 25 releases. Released Oct 19, 2010
The post-apocalyptic Fallout universe expands into Nevada in this new title in the franchise. As a courier once left for dead by a mysterious man in a striped suit, the player must now set out to find their assailant and uncover the secrets of the enigmatic ruler of New Vegas.
Will you playthrough on hardcore.
I'll be playing on the hardcore setting, assuming that I can independently alter the difficulty of the game. I like the idea of the more realistic weight management, though now I'm bummed out that I won't be able to carry 10,000 rounds for every gun where ever I go.
Does anyone know if the shooting mechanics in New Vegas have improved? I'm hoping for more for the CoD/Borderlands way of gun play.
" I'll definatly try to have a playthrough on hardcore but if theirs no acheivments for doing it then I wont since I dont feel like going through hell for nothing. "Isn't the feeling of knowing you have cojones enough self gratification for you?!?!
I'll try it, and see how I fare, if I think I might be able to pull it off, I'll do it. If there's an achievement for it, I'll have to do it.
I don't want the enemy having more damage advantage... but I would definitely like the water & weight difficulty options added to my playthrough.
Yep my 1st playthrough will be normal difficulty - hardcore mode. I was hoping Fallout 3 had a mode like this so I'm pretty stoked for it.
There's a fine line between fun and punishing. Hardcore sounds cool, but also very exhausting - to either live with your consequences, plan way ahead of time or reload every 10 minutes. To me, Fallout 3 was my "chill out" game - I would play absent-mindedly while listening to music for hours at a time. I'll probably try it, but I highly doubt I will last through the whole game on that setting.
According to steam there is an achievement... i am telling myself i will play it like that but i don't want to quit 1/4 of the way in and have spoiled the beginning of the game for myself.
I'm going through it on normal first. If the game is good enough, I'll give it a try on on Hardcore.
