A few folks in the forum are posting that they've just received an update on XBOX.  Can anyone else confirm this?  This is a pretty quick turnaround for something like this, which is nice, considering the noise that's been out on the internets.
 
Good to see Obsidian/Bethesda/Whoever else being proactive about this.  Although, I guess this is a bit reactive...

Nobody willing to try?  Too early?

The update seems to cause instant VATS crashes on my end. Regardless of the weapon I have equipped or the target, I'm now pretty scared to hit RB. So I cleared my system cache to restore the original pre-update build and now I'm okay again. Guess I'll just have to play offline until I get a little more feedback. It's still pretty early for a consensus, but at least one other person on the Bethesda forums is having the same problem. The only commonality so far is that we're both loading up saves in Nipton; another user loading up on The Strip is doing fine, so... who knows?

received a update, I do hope its more stable now. The "come fly with me test" made all my save files corrupt so I had to start over :-(. 

I've had one crash since the update, I drowned in Vault 34 and it locked up. I do get one every few hours with this game though.

Got an update this morning and i have no idea what it fixed. I don't feel anything different from my last time with the game, tho my game never glitched out with corruptions or crash. And i'm about 12+ hours in. I guess i got a +10 luck skill in real life too :p

I got the update too.

Yeah i got an 3MB update, but also ive played more than 20 hours and have not seen a lockup or an big bug so it kinda random thing i guess

now only 100 more to go

hey guys. This is ridiculous, but to fix the vats freeze apparently what u need to do is. 
1. erase your cache to get rid of the patch.  
2. load your game and get somewhere you wont need to use vats. like a house. save your game. 
3. download the patch. 
4.start your game and then fast travel to somewhere else. 
Lots of people are reporting success with this. hope it works for you too. 
I'm in uk so im gonna go start a new game now cos it only got released this morn.

Glad I bought it, but have other games to play while they sort out this bug nonsense. I started Castlevania and it's been taking up all my gaming time, along with LOTRO.

updated today after i got home from work. no crashes yet. before it locked up every time i played for over 2 or 3 hours in one sitting, haven't had that kinda time since the new update. heres hoping its more stable... this was a quick turn around on the patch, but still uncalled for and annoying that a game can be allowed to ship like this.

So I downloaded the patch... and it went down hill from there.
 
-I can no longer use my "weathered 10mm pistol". When I equip it the screen gets like a fog and I am holding nothing (but this nothing fires bullets but with no noise).
 
- When I turn to 3rd person mode there is a big red square with an exclamation point in it (those of you who downloaded "The Pitt" for Fallout 3 as soon as it came out will recognize what it looks like) surrounding my character.
 
WTF!

As long as this update will mean that Veronica isn't stuck in the fucking ground somewhere, incapable of me dumping her stupid ass to get Cass on my side, then I'll be happy.  I'll take hard crashes over the incapability of dropping my companion any day! 
 
Beyond that, I've only had one other bug during my entire playthrough, and that was a gecko getting stuck on my reticle and flailing around all ragdoll-nimbly-bimbly wherever I looked.  That was pretty comical to say the least.

There are 2 patches that were released from what I read from a forum board 
the user stated that he/she got a 2nd update later on after the 1st today
