I think this game could be a contender for Game of the Year. It is really unique, and has some awesome particle effects.

For PC= Yes

Consoles= Not so much

I'm not a fanboy, I only own a PS3.

If it turns out to be as good as the first game then it at least has a shot of PC game of the year.

Yes, the first was amazing and this is going to be even better, but as the others have said it will only contend for the PC not on the consoles.

Yeah it might have a shot, especially since there is not an Infinity Ward Call of Duty game coming out this year.

Yeah, it could possibly be best game for PC at this point.  GTA and MGS seem to have insurmountable leads in the hunt for game of the year.

It's a contender, but its from ubisoft

i dont consider this game unqiue at all far cry the original and crysis have done it before it doesnt change much.

I agree this game might just become game of the year. This is because of how great it's game engine.

but self-amusement aside, this game looks extremely compelling. Ubi has some big ideas and i think if they nail them just right, we've got an amazing game to look forward to.

yea, FPS games aren't given serious enough consideration because the market is saturated with them.  But if any shooter is a candidate in 08',   it's this one.       It looks to do so many amazing things that really haven't been done succesfully before.  S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear sky could give it a run for its money though.   I haven't seen enough of Clear Sky yet.

Fallout 3, Fable 2, GTAIV, SSBB, Star Wars Force Unleashed, Medal Gear 4, Red Alert 3, Gears 2, and Braid. It's up there, but not quite GotY.

PC GOTY perhaps, but not for consoles.

Ever since Giant Bomb's preview, I've been totally stoked about it. But as others have pointed out... just look at the other games that game out this year. It may get nominated for some awards, but the competition is real tough, so GOTY seems unlikely.

 I think that it's a possible contender. I haven't played any of it, so I don't know how it's going to feel while playing it so I'm not too sure.

there is defiantly tough competition, fallout and tons more but the map editor being able to build anything and play online with it over XBL just blows my mind.
