E3 2011: Far Cry 3 Trailer
I was insane once...
They locked me in a padded room.
I lived there, I died there.
They buried me in a hole in the ground.
The worms came and ate me.
I hate worms.
They drive me insane.
I was insane once...
How can they sell this shit with a straight face? It looks pretty but it seems so tired. I feel like I've been here before but not in a good way.
I love Far Cry 2.....this looks so similar to Crysis though....
Gosh, I wish I could get around comparing the two.....I hope it'll be awesome though. I really liked making fires and setting ambushes up in Far Cry 2....
Not much fire on display in the jungle. :(
But this time it's gonna be different! How can they sell this shit with a straight face? It looks pretty but it seems so tired. I feel like I've been here before but not in a good way.
The trailer is like a meta commentary on the entire entertainment industry and their audience.
I couldn't stand Far Cry 2. It wasn't a bad game, just not my style, basically Grand Theft Auto Africa Edition instead of the linear yet sandboxy goodness of Far Cry and Crysis. It shouldn't even of had the Far Cry name attached to it.
However, after Crytek screwed up Crysis 2 by moving it into the city and downsizing the sandbox elements, I find myself liking what I see here. Maybe I just like tropical islands :)

There will always be people and new generations to sell to.
This looks fantastic, they took what I liked about Far Cry 2 and added some much-needed atmosphere too.
Pretty much what I was thinking...I just hope enemies don't keep re spawning at the same checkpoint over and over again.
Nice voice acting and motion capture for body gestures, and I'm glad to see the franchise actually looking like Far Cry again. Far Cry is all about running amok in bright tropical settings. Among other things, the Safari setting in Far Cry 2 put me off, everything looked so dull.
I can't explain how excited I am about a game that fixes everything that was wrong with Far Cry 2. I wonder how open-worldy it will be.
Are they trying to be like COD whats with the xp crap popping on the screen I could under stand it on MP but SP I don't like it at all to arcady.
I KNEW this was Far Cry 3 when I saw him look over the horizon and proceed on. This looks like a true sequel to not only Far Cry 2, but what makes both two and its original as good as they were. I am very, very excited for this game and it's definitely the number one surprise for me so far since I'm a huge Far Cry fan (though I do prefer Jack Carver's story over FC2's.)
Got Far Cry 2 after hearing good things....but was deeply dissapointed with it. The open world nature of it did not sit well with me at all...and TERRIBLE iron sights.
